Chapter Twelve
Fighting the Demons
Sid prepared everything, dressed up and started moving. He is on his way to his job interview and he is a bit excited though still it is his normal attitude towards a job hunt. He arrived in the place just in time, got interviewed by the owner of the company and got hired. He was asked to report immediately and to start working as soon as possible. He was excited on his first day for some reason he is not aware. He thought maybe he is excited because after so many years he will start calling again as an agent and the campaign is almost the same with the last one he handled eight years ago. He arrived one hour early before the time he was told. He went straight on the station and tried to check all he is going to need. A few minutes more and everyone were already in the office. Sid was introduced to the group of less than ten agents then he was trained for a couple of hours then started working. He was very busy learning the process but for some reason he kept on looking to one of his colleagues. He is wondering why she seems familiar though he had not seen her before.
Karen: Hi! How are you doing there?
Sid: Just trying to get the hang of it.
Karen: Cool! Just let us know if you have questions or anything we can help you with.
Sid: Thanks and I will if I won't be able to figure things out. (Smiling)
Karen: By the way, in case you are not able to remember our name during the introduction, again my name is Karen and this is Michelle and Mark. The other girl at the end of this row is Reina and that one near you is Joey. The one behind you is Rex, Grace and Ann.
Sid: Hi guys! How are you doing?
Rex: We are cool here dude! Hope we can work it out.
Ann: How are you Sid? Is everything cool?
Sid: Yes, Ann! I guess everything is cool right now.
Reina: Hi Sid!
Sid: Hi Reina! Reina is your name right? I hope I can remember all names instantly. (Smiling)
Reina: Yes, you got it right! (Smiling)
Sid is now somehow confused. He keeps on looking at Reina thinking if they have met somewhere else or if they somehow worked together already in a call center. Time passed by and he wasn't able to figure out anything that connects with Reina. A few hours of work, he got tired and sleepy and took a nap during their break.
"Naszech! Have you forgotten me?" she whispered.
The voice really sounds familiar. I raised my head and look behind me. It is a very lovely angelic face that is smiling towards me but somehow she is lonely.
"It is you! How are you? I have been waiting for you. How will I forget about you?" I told her.
"My mortal body is not aware about us. I am just trapped inside and my body doesn't have a memory of you but it is time to be with me and to stay with me Naszech. Wake me up and make my body aware." she said.
Then somebody behind tapped my back several times waking me up.
Mark: Wake up Sid! Lunch break is over; we need to start working again.
Sid: Thanks Mark!
Sid started working again but he can't get Enelra off his mind. Now he is aware that it is time to find her but he doesn't know how. A few hours more and the shift were over. They all went out and on their way out they are talking to each other. Later on Sid found out that Reina lives on the direction where he stays. They traveled together and keeps on talking to each other telling stories and discussing lots of things on their way. It goes on like that for a month or two and for some reason Sid developed a strong attachment with Reina. He always wanted to see her and to be with her. One day while Sid and Reina are on their way back home on a bus.
"Naszech! You need to find me now! The light bringer is tearing my body apart." she shouted.
Then Lucifer appeared from nowhere. This time he is not in the form of a dragon but in a demon's form with a spear.
"Your soul is mine Enelra and I will take your soul too Naszech." Lucifer shouted.
"I will find you and I will save you Enelra." I shouted back to her.
But before I even managed to do anything, Lucifer threw the spear hitting Enelra on her left side. I quickly opened my wings, spread it out then drew my sword.
"You don't need to fight this battle now Naszech. Don't let him tear down my mortal body and break my human spirit." she yelled back.
I felt someone's hand is shaking me, waking me up.
Reina: Wake up Sid! You are dreaming.
Her smile looks so sweet but there is something in her mind hidden that her eyes can't hide.
Sid: Sorry! Guess I am really tired and fell asleep.
Reina: It is okay but I woke you up just to tell you that I will stop working now. I am sick and I really need to rest to get cured.
Sid: Sick? What do you mean?
Reina: I just found out that I have cancer and I need to undergo operation.
Sid: Is that the reason why I can feel sadness in your eyes?
Reina: Maybe my eyes can't hide what is inside my heart.
Sid is now confused. He doesn't know what to do. In his dream Enelra is dying but in his reality, someone is also sick and that someone is somebody that he felt very important to him.
Reina: Hey! Next stop is where you get off the bus. Kindly give this document to the management and tell them my case.
Sid: Oh yeah! Sorry but I just can't stop thinking about your situation. About that document, yes I will but are you okay?
Reina: Yes I am! Don't worry about me, I am brave and I can handle this.
Sid: That's good! Stay strong and keep the faith. Everything will be alright.
Sid is really touched and really sad that Reina is facing something that is going to be very hard for her. He is sad because it is something that he can't do anything about. He holds her hand and asked her to go with him straight to the church and pray for her health. Reina went with him and together they prayed for her wellness. Sid can't hide it now but though it is so fast and too impossible to be certain of one's feeling, he is sure that he is in love with her. It is not pity or any kind of human attraction but it is something wonderful that he can't explain. They stayed together for a few hours more until it is time to go on their way home.
Reina: Thank you! I appreciate what you are doing.
Sid: No need to thank me! I love what I am doing.
Sid embraced Reina tightly and kissed her on her forehead and then they walked in a separate ways.
