Prologue.
I was completely alone in this darkness. There was no light whatsoever, and I could hear the sounds of whispers travel around me. Where was I? Who am I— If I'm even someone at all. What am I exactly? There was no one or anything, to answer those questions.
The whispers grew louder, and I could make out bits of words, and even sentences that were spoken out. I focused, and listen carefully, trying to understand what was happening.
"He doesn't have much time, it'd be best to just pull the plug." I heard a husky voice say. But I still hadn't understand what was going on. So I listened closely again.
There was a faint whimper, "Can't we d-d-do something? Anything?" The sadden voice, pleaded and begged. It was a females voice, but who did it belong to? And why was she so sad?
"Mrs. Emerson, I'm sorry to say we tried our best to bring him back. All we can do now is give you some time with him before we shut the system down." He paused, cleared his throat, then continued. "Would you like to say your final goodbyes to your son? We'll leave now."
It was silence for a breif moment. Then suddenly, someone bursted into loud whimpers. I could imagine how heart broken this person was. But I still didn't understand why?
Who's plug were they pulling? Why was Mrs. Emerson saying her final goodbyes to her son? Where were they? And why couldn't I see them, but just hear them? What was happening, nothing seemed to make sense.
All I could hear next was, 'BEEEEEEEEEEEEP.' And then the sound faded away. The dark brightened, and light shined through. What was happening now? A warm feeling filled me, and I felt as if I was being lifted away somewhere. Where was I going? The light blinded me, and in matter of moments I awoke.
As my eyes slowly opened, and adjusted to the brightness, I was surely stunned by the beauty of what I've seen. I sat up, and looked around in the distances. Even though I had no idea where I might be, I knew something. I was someone. I'm not for sure who I am, but I could feel the soil beneath me.
I felt the grass brush against my skin, and my toes bury into the dirt. I breathed in the soothing air, and closed my eyes. I was able to hear more then whispers, I heard birds chirp and nature surrounding me. The wind felt nice blowing in my hair, and when I opened my eyes again, I was able to see such a beautiful picture.
There were trees, and birds, and even butterflies. I have no idea what may be going on, but I feel so alive. The questioned that remained, where am I— and why must it be here?
