Third Person's POV

'Rise and shine Jaehyun!' His mother shouted and opened the curtains in his room widely.

'Muuuuuuum, stop, just five more minutes.' He complained back.

'Nonsense', she said and pulled his duvet off him, 'you will not be late to school on your first day so hurry up!'

Due to the lack of a duvet, Jaehyun was pretty cold now so he was fully awake.

'I'm up, I'm up.'

'Good. Your uniform is hanging up in your wardrobe, we're leaving in forty minutes.'

Jaehyun had tried to tell his mum that he could get to school himself, but she kept going on about how it was the first day and she wanted to.

He went to the bathroom to get ready and stared at his face in the mirror. He had three months until his seventeenth birthday, time flies, right? First impressions were important to Jaehyun so he tried his best to look good, he gelled his hair, moisturised and did all his other skincare, and he applied a small amount of eyeliner, something that Baekhyun had told him to do. He didn't have time for breakfast so he brushed his teeth straight away, and took one more look in the mirror before going to get changed.

The uniform consisted of a white shirt, a blue striped tie, a black blazer and trousers (which were basically skinny jeans, much to Jaehyun's surprise and relief) and shoes of your choice. Jaehyun picked his black and white Nike trainers and looked at himself in the long mirror. He was satisfied, but still had to add some accessories. His mum had said there weren't any rules about jewellery and stuff, which was quite the opposite of Jaehyun's old school. He took advantage of that and put in black stud earrings and, of course, he had his ruby necklace on, that matched with Baekhyun's, they never took them off. Even at his old school, they managed to hide it under their shirt. Last of all he sprayed some aftershave and then he felt presentable.

'Are you ready?' His mum called up the stairs.

'Yeah just coming mum!'

Jaehyun jogged down the stairs and his mum handed him his bag and his canteen and bus cards.

'Come on then my handsome child.'

'Stop mum!'

'Alright, alright, but let's get going.' His mother shook her head and smiled.

'Why does school even exist?' Johnny whined as he threw his bag onto his desk.

'Come on Johnny, you know why it exis-'

'Doyoung. That was a rhetorical question you dumb ass.' Johnny rolled his eyes.

'Come on you two, settle down, I deal with enough of you two at home.' Taeil sighed and massaged his temples.

'It's not my fault, he started it!' Doyoung shouted.

'It was you who started it!' Johnny shouted back.

Taeil sent Mark a look of desperation. Mark acknowledged it and spoke out, 'You two really need to shut your mouths for once.' He said and muttered something, and then clicked his fingers.

The two boys fell silent and looked at Mark angrily and went to stand up, 'Don't make me do something worse.' Mark said sternly, and they sat back down and sulked to themselves.

'How I wish I could do that.' Taeil grinned, 'thank you bro.'

Mark, Taeil, Doyoung and Johnny, an unlikely set of siblings. Taeil, Doyoung and Johnny were all adopted by Mark's father when they were young, his father was a kind, gentle man who just happens to be a wizard. Yes, a wizard. Mark being his only real son, obviously also had the same abilities as his father. While Mark's three adopted brothers may be fully human, their father taught them how to make potions since they were very young. Johnny and Doyoung were undoubtedly close, they just tended to argue. A lot. Mark was closest to Taeil, they had the same wavelength, and they also knew exactly how to wind up their brothers. Although Mark is the youngest of the four, being a wizard, he is the wisest, and he tends to lead the others.

There is one tricky thing about being a wizard though, and that's secrecy. There are often many times where Mark's powers would be useful, but apart from his family (obviously) no one knew. Well, apart from his friends but they're kind of an exception.

'Class, settle down now!' Mr Xi shouted, 'today we have a new student, please look after him and help him with things.'

Mark saw a boy walk in, all the girls were whispering and blushing at the boy.

'Hello, my name is Jung Jaehyun, I'm sixteen years old and I transferred from the other side of Seoul.' Jaehyun bowed and introduced himself.

All the girls begged him to sit next to them, and he looked incredibly flustered. Mark saw that he was struggling, and he walked up to him and spoke softly and quietly so the girls wouldn't hear, 'you can come sit with us, the girls in this class are a bit..' Mark pulled an expression that would fit well with the word yikes, and Jaehyun gratefully accepted the offer.

Mark led Jaehyun to their seats and Johnny stuffed a note to his hand as he still couldn't speak, Mark read the note and chuckled whilst shaking his head and whispered to Johnny, 'No I will not get you his number, he's not yours Johnny.'

Mark sat down in between Taeil and Jaehyun, 'So, why did you transfer?' He asked.

'We moved house, it would've been hard to go to my old school.'

'That's understandable, these are my brothers, Taeil, Johnny and Doyoung, my dad adopted them if you're wondering why we look nothing alike.'

'Oh, really? I'm adopted too.' Jaehyun smiled, 'Do you guys just hang out together or do you have other friends?'

'We have...a group of friends that can be quite troublesome so just stick with us, and I'm sure you'll get used to them.'

'Oh are they not in this class?' Jaehyun asked and looked around.

'A few aren't but most of them are, apart from our friends in the year bellow. They tend to be a bit late to school though.' Mark chuckled, 'But really, you should probably just stay by my side if you want to survive being in 12N, the girls are just annoying and the boys can be..pretty difficult. As I said, you'll get used to it.'

'RISE AND SHINE MOTHERFUCKERS.' A loud voice called from the doorway, 'Ah, I heard there was a new boy, here, have a chocolate.' The same boy said and held out a packet.

'Ten, give it a rest.' Mark sighed.

'Jaehyun, don't eat it.' Taeil whispered, 'you'll have food poisoning for a week..'

'How do you know?'

'I learnt the hard way.' Taeil shrugged.

'How about you sniff the flower.' Another boy appeared and winked.

'Would you two please just sit down?' Mark said, 'if you'd sniffed that you would've got poison in your eye.'

'Look, that's Ten and Donghyuck. They can be annoying sometimes but you get used to it.'

Mark turned round to the two and passed them a drink each and whispered something to them and then he turned round.

'And they're the best out of the lot.' Mark chuckled and pat Jaehyun's back, 'it's gonna be a long day buddy'.

'I think it just got that bit longer.' Taeil whispered and looked towards the doorway where 3 boys stood.
