6 ~ Master Jaehyun ~ 6

Third Person's POV

Mark, Johnny, Taeil and Doyoung invited Jaehyun to come for dinner at their place, so he was now sat down at a table with them and a man with long, white, hair and a long, white, beard - he was their father.

'So, Jaehyun, tell me about yourself and your life. Mark tells me you're adopted like the rest of my boys.' Their father asked, 'and just call me Lyn for now.' 

'Well, Lyn, yes, I'm an orphan, I was left outside of the orphanage when I was around one, and I got adopted when I was eleven.' Jaehyun replied.

'Do you remember who dropped you off? Do you remember anything before that?' Lyn asked.

'Not really, I get random memories occasionally but I don't remember anything about that night.'

'But you remember it was a night.' Lyn pointed out.

'Yes, I guess I do remember that. I was left with this ruby necklace.' Jaehyun said, and pulled his necklace out from under his shirt, 'my brother has a matching one'

Lyn looked a little confused, 'brother?'

'Yes, not blood related but he was dropped off a week later than me, with a matching necklace. We have been as good as brothers ever since.'

'So it's the same as yours? It's beautiful.' Lyn inquired.

'Not quite, his is aqua.' Jaehyun replied whilst filling his mouth with chicken.

'Ah, Baekhyun, son of Meredith and Delian...' Lyn muttered to himself.

(A/N Lyn speaks with a wise/formal/older tone and those who are having a one to one conversation with him will use a formal speech as well(only if they know he's a wizard ofc) - just to clarify in case y'all think I'm turning Shakespearean or some shit)

'Mark, my son, may you help me with the dishes? Boys, keep our wonderful Jaehyun entertained, he is presently part of the family.' Lyn said and he and Mark left to the kitchen.

'My boy, it is as you thought! Oh lord, sweet miracle above, I had long thought of them dead. After finding poor Scarlett and Judas, Meredith and Delian, I assumed the worst of their boys!'

'Father, take heed, both do know not yet of their capabilities, remember? We must wait until the time comes for then the ritual shall take place.' Mark replied.

'Indeed, 'tis true. We must keep our profile low before the time comes.'

'S-Sir? It's true? Master Jaehyun is but in the dining room? Please, let me greet him for I, too, thought him dead.'  A young butler said from the kitchen doorway.

'So be it, Orbin, but you must not give anything away, we are still planning the way in which we are to prepare him.' Lyn said with a sigh.

'And Master Baekhyun? He is not here, I gather.' Orbin asked.

'Aye, he is not. You may rest your gentle soul, he is safe and well.' 

'O-Okay, thank you Sir. I will now go, as a butler, to offer the boys drinks.' Orbin said.

'C'mon Orb.' Mark whispered aside and dragged the butler to the dining room.

'Jaehyun, this is our butler, Orbin.' Mark said and pushed him forward towards Jaehyun.

'Hello Master Jaehyun.' Orbin said with a bright smile.

'No need for that, just call me Jaehyun!' Jaehyun giggled.

'Ah, yes, would you like a drink of something?'

'Yes, a coke would be nice, thank you.' Jaehyun smiled and Orbin scurried off to get Jaehyun's drink.

Jaehyun frowned and Mark noticed a shift in is mood, 'are you alright, Jaehyun?'

'Yes..he just seemed a little familiar. I don't know, I feel a little ill.'

'He probably just reminds you of someone you know, that's all.' Mark reassured him.

A ring on doorbell echoed round the house, 'I'll get it, dad.' Mark called.

Mark opened the door to reveal a boy, whom looked maybe a few years older than himself.

'Hello..I'm here to see Lyn? May I come in?' The mystery boy asked.

'Sure, I'm his son, Mark.'

'Nice to see you again.' The boy smiled.

'Again?' Mark questioned.

'Ah, yes, your father has shown me a picture of you before.' The boy replied and scratched the back of his neck.

'Father, there is someone here to see you.' Mark called for his dad.

Lyn appeared at the doorway and his eyes sparkled as he recognised the boy.

'My dear child!' Lyn cried and embraced the boy tightly as Mark went away to leave them alone.

Lyn wiped a tear from his eye and then from the boy's.

'I thought you had been killed! Where have you been all these years Kai?'

'A family took me in, looked after me..do you think my brother will be angry? That all these years I've only come back to this city now?' Kai asked.

'I assure you he won't be angry, he'll be happy to know that you're alive. Anyway, you're not the only one that recently returned..Jaehyun, he has moved here. It seems like everything is falling back into place, how it used to be.' Lyn replied.

'You think there is a reason for this? Do you think they're back.'

'We can never be sure when they will return, Kai, only that they will, at some point in time.'

'I confess, I only waited so long to come back because I only just regained my memory of my early life, you know they have those memory gases which damage your memory? I escaped but that was used against me. I see Mark has grown up well, he is very handsome. And Jaehyun? Is he well?'

'Yes, Jaehyun is very well, in fact you can join us for a drink now. Your bedroom is the same as it always has been, first floor, second on the right. I do hope you will permanently move back here?'

'Of course, I will bring my belongings tomorrow.' Kai said, a grin plastered on his face, 'I may go look at the old house at some point, I guess it's still empty.'

'I should expect so.' Lyn smiled and they walked together into the dining room so Kai could introduce himself.
