Me and Millie saved up enough money to go to the south of France. Millie asked me if she could take her boyfriend with us. I said that would be fun.

She now had a job as a photographer. She did weddings but she got some amazing shots of me and flowers in France.

James (Millie's boyfriend) told Millie to take a picture of the prettiest flower. She turned around to take the picture.

The camera clicked, James put his hand in his pocket.

The camera clicked again, James pulled out a box.

The camera clicked a third time, James got down on one knee.

The camera clicked again,
"Millie?" James said

She turned around looking at the picture she took, smiling. Her beautiful eyes looked up from the flower and locked on her boyfriend's eyes.

Her perfectly tanned hand went up to her open mouth.

"James oh my god." She said crying

"Millie, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" He was practically crying too

"Yes. A thousand times yes!" She said and they hugged.

"Only a thousand?" I said joking as a dad does. I did get a funny look from James as if he was confused he didn't do it right. "Your mum would approve of such a handsome young man." I said smiling proudly.

"Thank you sir," James said still staring into my daughters eyes

"Come here you two." We got pulled into a hug and it was the real sense of family I had. It made me really happy.

The rest of the French trip was so fun, even for a old man. We went out to France a week after Millie's birthday so we went out for a birthday meal. The restaurant was red and looked beautiful. I got the thought James was going to do something special as he wasn't acting his usual self around me.

Her dress was stunning though

Her dress was stunning though. A beautiful deep blue lace over the dress, knee length and silver heels sander like. She looked beautiful. James' mouth dropped and I pushed his chin up and his cheeks turned a light shade of red as he thanked me, lightly laughing. I definitely approve of James. He is a nice young gentleman.

I felt so proud telling everyone what happened when I got back to England. I told my mum and she started planning straight away making a strong relationship with her grand-daughter. It made me happy seeing my mums smile which I hadn't seen in a while. She's all about weddings and she was very disappointed she didn't get to throw one for me. I don't think I will ever find someone new. I still love Rachel and she said she loved me.

We all planned the wedding to be in two years.
