Chapter - 15

"Chara. . . Let go of (Y/n). . ." Sans threatened as he stepped closer.

"But where's the fun in that Sansy~?" Chara purred as she brought the knife closer to (Y/n)'s neck. (Y/n) shuddered at the touch.

"Kid. . ." Sans started. "Let go of (Y/n) and walk away."

Chara laughed. "Do you really think I would give up like you?"

The knife inched closer.

"Heh. No, but. . . Seeing what happens next. . . I can't afford not to care anymore."

Suddenly, Chara was lifted off the ground then flew over and smashed into the floor behind Sans.

"Huff. . . W-What!? Hey that's not fair Sansy!!" Chara screeched as Sans levitated her again, throwing her into the air as Gaster Blasters appeared. Aiming for Chara, the blasters shot. But Chara was much quicker. She threw her knife at Sans, grazing his cheekbone, momentarily distracting him for a second. In a wink, the blasters disappeared.

Chara dropped to the ground, dashing over to (Y/n). Sans quickly caught on and teleported infront of her, grabbing her SOUL and sending her back. Unfortunately, Chara landed near her knife as she picked it up and ran towards them again.

"Kid." Sans said. "Run back to wherever you came from. And tell everyone that. . . I'm sorry." Said Sans as a tear escaped from his eye sockets.

"S-Sans! Come with me then!!" (Y/n) screamed between looking back and forth at Sans and Chara, who was closing in on them quickly. (Y/n) latched onto Sans arm, struggling to pull him towards the (invisible) barrier (Y/n) came through.

"No (Y/n)! Just go!" Sans screamed as Chara slashed at them. Sans teleported him and (Y/n) back, saving them both from the blow and landing them near the barrier.

Chara just laughed as she started to run towards them again. (Y/n) looked up at Sans. He was huffing, and he had an arm infront of (Y/n) as if for protection.

(Y/n) wanted to stay, but Sans had told them to go back to the barrier. (Y/n) didn't want to leave. . . but at the same time they wanted to.

If (Y/n) stayed, there was a chance of both of them getting hurt. If (Y/n) left, there was a chance that Sans could get hurt. So with either choice. . . Sans was gonna die-- I-I mean get hurt. Oops.

. . . . .

(Y/n) sighed as they began walking towards the barrier. It was better if they left anyways. This was Sans's battle. Not their's.

(Y/n) felt the barrier and was about to pass through, before an idea came to mind.

"Hey Sans!" (Y/n) yelled.

"What is it now kid!?" Sans screamed, frustration clear in his voice.

"Get them Dunked on!!!!!" (Y/n) screamed, as if it was a inspirational speech. Sans turned to (Y/n) and smiled at them. His smile looked. . . real. Not like those other smiles he was forced to put on. A real smile.

(Y/n) happily returned back the gesture, before leaping back to her family.

==========(1 second later)

Jumping through the barrier was not how (Y/n) remembered it.

Instead of feeling nothing, it was like they were suffocating or like (Y/n) was being drowned under sand. After getting through, (Y/n) collapsed to their knees, gasping for air.

"My child!!" Toriel nearly cried as she ran over to the human on the floor. She grouped up (Y/n) in her arms, giving them the biggest hug ever. (Y/n) would've returned the gesture if they weren't so drained.

"Yo punk! You alright?" Undyne asked as she came up behind them. (Y/n) only smiled in response as they tried to gather as much air as possible.

"I-I. . ." (Y/n) stuttered out. "Nevermind. Let's go home everyone." (Y/n) said before the groune below them started to crumple, leaving them to fall into the abyss below.

(Y/n) couldn't put their finger on it but. . . (Y/n) swore that they saw someone oveer them. Smiling.

============(Where Sans and Chara are)

"Hehehehe. . ." Sans chuckled as soon as (Y/n) was gone. "It's just you and me, demon."

Chara smirked. "No it isn't Sansy~! Did you forget about your friend?"

"What friend?" Sans asked dumbfounded.

"Heheheh~!" Chara laughed. "My best friend! Asriel Dreemurr."

All of a sudden, vines shot out of the ground, each one heading towards Sans from behind. One vine grabbed onto Sans's leg, but a bone impaired it before it could go any damage.

"Hey Smiley TrashBag!" A familiar voice perked up. Sans sneered.

"What's wrong Sans?" Chara questioned as she stepped closer to the skeleton. "You look like you're having a bad time."

"Okay Chara." Sans groaned "Can we . . . um. . . Can we continue this tomorrow?"

Chara face palmed and Flowey started laughing.

"You idiot! Do you think we would pass up this opportunity?" Flowey only continued to laugh.

"Actually. . . We have to go Flowey." Chara said, a hint of annoyance in her voice.

"What!? Why Chara? I just got here!

"I can only make this place (the void they're in) last for a limited amount of time. It's not long before this crumples apart, leaving us falling to out death." Chara explained.

Not long after she said those words, the ground started to shake. Pieces of the void began to disappear, leaving a black sencenery of nothing.

"It's happening! Well. . . Bye Sansy~!" Chara screamed before both her and Flowey disappeared, leaving Sans all by himself.
