Demon

Darkness...Cold and black. All I could feel, all I could see. Nothing more, nothing less. Why was I here? What did I do to deserve such a fate?
"Hello?" I called out. No response, just my voice echoing through the darkness. I felt afraid, though I could not understand why. My thoughts were blocked by a thick, grey smoke that threatened to consume me. The sound of burning was loud in my ears...That's when I saw him.

Black had turned to red, and like a demon he rose. Large, black body, blood red eyes. I felt something resonate within me. He is my wolf. My body began to shake. I knew something was wrong. His tail was not that of a wolf. Instead it was pointed. Large, ivory horns broke free from his head.

I could hear him roaring. The great pain he felt. I wanted to help...but I couldn't. I was powerless to aid this great beast. Tears began to gather in my eyes, I didn't even know why. What's going on? What are these feelings? "What did I do to deserve this!" I cried out, my knees buckled.

Still I could hear the roars, but they were distant now. Many miles away. It almost felt...Peaceful. I looked around. Grass and trees replaced the darkness. A...Forest? I heard giggling behind me.

"Of course. Don't you remember your...Or should I say our forest. Where we had played together...As one?"

I spun round. A girl stood a couples of meters away. A malicious smile plastered across her face. "Who...Who are you?" I stuttered.

"Haha. I think you know very well who 'I' am." she snickered, clearing the dirt from her nails as she spoke.

The girl was right. Something about her seemed to familiar. Perhaps is it was her height and stature that exactly matched mine, or the freckles on her face that were identical to the ones on my face. I closed my eyes tightly. This is all just a bad dream. I've had dreams like this before. It will just go away.

"Hate to break it to you but I'm no dream...In fact, I'm much more important then that."

I opened my eyes. We both gazed at each other. My violet eyes pitted against her red eyes. "Who are you?"

"I'm you, who else."

My eyes widened. "No way is this real. I'm just dreaming, yeh, just dreaming." I said to myself.

"But that's the funny thing. Your only saying that because you refuse to accept the truth. Your demon will escape soon. This is what you will become, you can't deny it. You were made to kill, made to suffer. Isn't that right Child of Sin?"

My whole body froze. Only my mother had called me that, even then it was only once. Nobody knew my true name. It was my biggest secret and a strong weapon against me if the wrong people found out.

It was really strange, out of my shock I found myself getting very angry. "Who the hell told you that!" I snarled.

Slowly, she walked over to me, still baring a smile. "Didn't I tell you." she placed a finger on the end of my noes and chuckled.

Why can't I control my anger? Why do I feel like this?

"Because its destiny." she whispered in my ear, her black, pointed tail wishing from side to side behind her.

I moved my arm to attack but found myself restrained by chains. "What the hell!"

"These chains bound me for so long, how ironic it is that an angel would be the one to set a demon like me free." she began to laugh.
