I turnt on the tap and waited a few seconds. That sound of water traveling through the piles carrying me away in thought. I'd lost my cool. I'd got in a fight. I'd eaten flesh, used my Kagune infront of three people. I had to hope to hell and back that my scarf had hidden my face. I didn't need these Dovs after me. Not after this long.
The cold water pulled me from my mind as it hit my back. I couldn't think like that. For now I needed to continue on like normal, the world wasnt going to stop just for me.I dried and got dressed like normal. A collar shirt, pair of jeans and trainers. I pulled open the curtains and looked out over the city as the sun slowly rose into the sky, casing those bright beams over the world and bringing it to life. I sighed and grabbed my coat and scarf pulling them on and leaving the door locking it behind me.
I wondered down the street, happy for a day without classes, the memory of last night hanging over me. I passed the dress shop and hesitated. The curtains had been opened and it looked like it was open for business like usual. I took a few moments then moved on further down the street. It was best she didn't see me. I reached the town centre as the masses of people hurried about going about their daily lives, I wondered how many were ghouls. I wondered how many had a secret best kept silent, how many like me had showered lost in thought. I shrugged it off and kept walking. I had a place to be.
I got to the subway and payed the ticket fair. I sat keeping myself to myself as I rode it a few stops. I got off with the normal flood of people. Wondering through these streets I reached the small cafè. Pushing the door open I entered and ordered a coffee. I took a seat and waited. As my coffee arrived at my table the door pushed open again.
And there she was, her curly blacj hair, her soft features, that eye hidden under her fringe. I nearly knocked my coffee over with suprise. I lowered my head and sipped the coffee trying to hide my face. She couldn't see me. I thought myself safe as she passed me sitting at a table behind me. She was alone as well. I drank my coffee but I was spooked. I needed to get out of there. I payed and hurried out the door. I must have been jogging or running because it didn't take long for me to fall into an alley leaning on the wall out of breath.
"Um excuse me..." A soft female voice spoke from the direction I'd come. I kept my head low. Maybe they'd leave if I didnt answer.
"Excuse me sir..." She wasn't leaving, she was getting closer. "I think you dropped this." She said holding out my wallet.
"Oh thank you." I said taking it.
"IT IS YOU." She snapped. "The one from last night."
My eyes widened as I backed up. Had I saved this girl for her to get me killed.
"Thank you." She said bowing her head low. "Thank you for saving me."
