Love Can't Set You Free [2]
I looked up to see it was Axel, Drew's best-best-friend. He liked to make fun of my stick-like, uncurvy body.
Saying I could be a raft or board when he sails or surfs.
He grinned cutely and I realized he didn't know it was me. I decide to play a little trick on him.
I had a crush on him ever since I was eight, when Drew brought him home for the first time to play.
And I wasn't the 'cutest thing' in the world. I was sorta, chubby with baby fat.
He was always around, and he never acknowledged me except to make fun of me.
Even if he did make jokes of me, I still was attracted to him.
I loved his bronze brown hair, also his carribean eyes.
They just looked so rare and beautiful. He was pretty tall, around 5"11 with a diamond stud in his left ear.
Straight white teeth, an averge face and he worked out a few times a week with my brother.
I couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he notices it's me.
"I gues so, I can't really eat this anymore." I told him casually.
He sat down on the bar stool next to me and faced me.
"Waste of food, we could cut the part you bit and give it to the homeless place down the street. Come on." He got up and grabbed the basket.
He went and grabbed a plastic knife, cutting the part I bit off, then throwing it away.
I got up too, and followed him out.
We walked side by side, and he looked so much tanner in the sun.
"So, what school do you go to?" I asked, even though I already knew the answers.
"RFA, it's a boarding school I go to with My friend Drew and his kid sister Dylan. You?"
"Oh same, I know a Drew!" I said, trying to hold back my laughter. I coughed, trying to cover it off.
"You okay?" he asked, and patted me on the back.
I nodded and the Homeless Center came in view.
"Do you work here?" I ask, as we walked in and everybody waved at him.
"I volunteered for community service sometimes." He told me and walked to I think was the food hall.
I never saw this side of him, it was so much better than the Jack-ass I was use to.
He walked over to a couple, they were wearing many layers of clothes, raggy gloves and tired expressions.
I instantly felt sorrow, for I was so very lucky to have a home, food, education, etc.
He said some words to them and gave them the food. They smiled at him and he turned around, waving me over.
I slowly made my way over, pulling the loose side of the neck of my shirt up.
"Hi." I greeted them.
"Hi dear, I must thank you for the sandwich." She grinned at me, along with her husband.
"Oh your welcome, it was Axel's idea to come here with the sandwich." I grinned.
"Whats your name?" She asked, looking at me and Axel side by side.
"My name is Dylan." I told her and I felt Axel stiffen.
"Dylan?" He asked, a mask of shock on his face.
"Yup, Hey Axel, it's your surfboard!" I told him with false hapiness.
He only treated me different because of my change of appearence.
