“What the hell are you doing?” I heard Ethan scream from under the mountain of people that are pressing down on me. There is some shifting, and a knee knocked into my stomach, winding me. I was almost tempted to shift, but the rational side of me (Hellcat) told me that they may think of it as a threat. So, I swallowed my pride and tried my best to wiggle out of the heap of knobs that were squishing me.
“Get off of her, now!” he thundered, a bit muffled from the layers of flesh, but he still sounded demanding. Must be another one of the First perks. Wonder if he demanded a sandwich, would he get one straight away? Man, would that be nice. Uh, what am I thinking, I must be going delirious from lack of blood flow to my brain, courtesy of some doofus sitting on my chest.
Almost immediately they crawled off of me, leaving me alone on the ground as they stood, surrounding me in hulking masses of idiot. Ethan looked down and crouched by my side, concerned. How sweet, my lovely twin is worried about his poor, defenseless younger twin. How thoughtful.
“You alright, Mic?” he asked, hauling me to my feet. I nodded, glaring at the circle around us. They seemed confused, as they should be. First, some stranger just shifted into a tiger, then she ran away from their First, then she attacked said First. And from what I can gather, attacking a First isn’t a good thing, especially in his pack of loyal followers. Opps, my bad.
“They only won because I didn’t want to hurt anyone,” I told him truthfully, but he only chuckled non-believingly.
“What don’t believe me?” I challenged, and he smiled wickedly.
“Don’t interfere,” he told his people sternly, and they backed up, majorly confused and pissed. Why is this girl hell-bent on killing their Alpha? Yeah, I would like to know that too.
“Ready? Or do you want to back down before you break a nail?” he asked, and I narrowed my eyes on him threateningly. By the looks of his cuticles, he was more pampered when it came to beauty than I am!
“On three,” I warned, grinning evilly. Oh yeah, I was going to win.
“One,” I growled, circling the perimeter of the ring the group around us made.
“Two,” I answered, hoping that my lack of vision wouldn’t affect my fighting.
“Three!” we said together and charged. I hopped over him as he rushed to tackle me, but he spun on his heels to avoid falling over. I slid my feet apart, watching him as he ran at me again. He was an idiot when it came to fighting, always was, and I fear always will be. He allows himself to rely solely on his brute strength, never on his head. So when he charged, I side-stepped and kicked his back as he rushed past, making him fall over.
It was a pretty epic face plant, so epic that I had to muffle my giggles as I pulled him up and held him in a headlock. He thrashed, but I willed myself to hold on, which I did with arms of steel.
“Give?” I asked him, stepping on his back to keep myself steady and to keep him on the ground.
“Never, Mica. There is no way I would ever give,” he hissed, but whimpered as I pulled harder, making the hulking masses of brainless muscle behind me make weird threatening noises. I just rolled my eyes and jabbed my loving twin in the stomach with my pointy elbow, driving the breath out of him. He reached up, his fingers jabbing into my side. Oh that traitor. Only he knew my weak-spot, only he knew where I could be tickled.
“No, stop it!” I cried as he tickled me harder, making my grip loosen to fight him off. Laughter was oozing its way out of me, egging that evil twin of mine on. Even though I couldn’t see for crap, I knew people were confused. One second, this chick attacks their leader, seems to be about to win, and suddenly she dissolves into a fit of giggles? Yeah, I feel the same way, scary people. I toppled over, trying to escape the torment, but he stayed firm on me, until I was breathless.
