I wake up to my usual alarm on school days pounding in my ear. I feel around for the off button mindlessly. I let out a huge sigh as I drag myself up out of bed. I get ready, the usual.

I tug at my small school shirt and brush down my grey pleated skirt. I pull my hair into a messy pony, only because of our school's strict rule about having hair tied up at all times.

After saying a quick goodbye to my parents I hop into my car. I am actually one of my very few friends that actually passed their driving tests.

I get out of my car and see a crowd, I crane my neck to see who is in the middle of the crowd, I see Harry. How could I forget? Harry is one of the upmost popular guys in the upper year. I don't really pay attention to the 'popular crew' though. Never once has it crossed my mind that I wanted to be popular. I am fine the way I am.

"Ava!" I turn around to see my best friend, Ally, frantically waving at me with a huge beam. Who knew anyone could be this happy on a Monday morning.

I make my way over to her as she whines, "I wish I was invited to that party on Saturday."

I roll my eyes, I have to put up with this all the time. "Why do you even want to go? It's stupid." I state.

"But everybody who's anybody is going." She whines again.

"That's just it Ally, we're nobody." I hate to tell her the truth but she already knows it.

She sighs as we make our way to class. I can't help but think about Harry and our kiss. It probably meant nothing to him. He had a condom in his pocket. He's done much more. But that kiss made me feel something I've never felt before, not for at least a year when Cal left. There is something about him that ignites a fire inside of me.

It's lunchtime, I realise that all morning I have just been thinking about Harry. I flush at how ridiculous I am being.

Me and Ally find our usual lunch spot after getting food from the canteen. I sit down trying to soothe my headache. Eating my chips I spot Harry who is walking in our direction, he holds my stare. His fists are balled. Harry halted right as he was about to pass our table. He looks at my bowl of chips. He narrows his eyes in thought. His hands snake down to my bowl of chips slowly as he looks down at me, never taking his eyes off of mine. He grabs a chip. Harry then takes a bite out of it, the steam escapes from the chip as he does so. Harry unexpectedly hands back that chip to me and I, too lost for words to speak, accept the chip and eat the rest.

After Harry walks off I see that everyone is staring at me including Ally. I blush ferociously. Ally's mouth is hanging open. I raise an eyebrow at her.

"What was that all about Ava?" She asks in disbelief.

I sit their for about a minute debating whether or not I should tell her, i decide against it. "It was nothing."

She shakes her head, "That was obviously not nothing."

"Let's just drop the subject please." I half beg, I know if we keep on talking about it I'll end up telling her.

I don't even know what or why Harry just did that. It is seriously beyond me. I suppose he thinks that he can just torture me and try to lead me on until I fall for him and he breaks my heart, not happening. That's already happened.

Lunch is over before I know it, I spent the whole hour listening to Ally rambling on about some guy. I just want to focus on getting good grades and going to a good university. That's my goal. No boys.

I spend the rest of the school day mindlessly doodling on the school table. A hand slams down onto the desk in front of me. I jump at this sudden movement and sound. "Detention today Miss Bryce for graffiti on school property." Mr Johnson smiles slyly giving me an answer to what I was going to ask. I roll my eyes trying to not let this ruin my day. My first ever detention, dad will surely shout at me. Shit.
