Scott's POV
I had texted Isaac a few hours ago but still had not gotten a reply back. By now I was starting to get worried because Isaac always texts back immediately.
I've had a crush on Isaac since last year when he and his father moved in. He always seemed to stare at me from afar but never made a move to talk to me. I was actually the first one to make a move.
A couple weeks ago I had started hanging out with him and even got him to give me his number. Isaac always had these bruises in weird places and almost always wore long selves and jeans. Sometimes he would be sick for days at a time but when I asked about all of these things he always brushed it to the side and changed the topic.
Now I was really getting worried. He still hadn't texted me back. I knew where he lived so I decided to go and check on him just in case something was wrong. I had this really weird feeling about the whole situation by the time I made it to his house. I knocked on the door and Mr. Lahey answered it.
"What do you want boy?" was the rude greeting I got.
"I'm Scott, one of Isaac's friends, I was hoping you knew were he is?"
Mr. Lahey looked me up and down then promptly said, "Isaac doesn't have any friends," and slammed the door in my face.
I still had this really bad feeling so I decided to look around. I found that the back door was unlocked so I slipped into the house as quietly as I could. That's when the over powering stench of fresh blood hit my my nose.
I looked around for the source of it but only found an old freezer. For some reason I walked over to it, almost in a dazed like state. I was afraid of what was under the lid, or better yet... who.
With a shaky hand I lifted the latch and looked inside. There he was. Laying in a pool if his own blood.
There Isaac was, barely breathing.
