Enter KING OF FRANCE, CORDELIA, SERVANTS
SERVANT 2
Where would you like me to put your coat my lady*?Servant starts to take Cordelia's coat off
CORDELIA
In the hallway where my other coats are. Don't be a fool.Cordelia shrugs the arm of the jacket off in temper
Servant 3 and 1 whisper between themselves
SERVANT 1
To the Kingdom's dismay, our lady has come to a change. Her father would have never approved of this.SERVANT 3
Since she displaced* the illegitimate son of Gloucester, she has had outbursts like her father that will seem to eterne*.SERVANT 1
Did she not displace him to a field* to fend for Albany?SERVANT 3
Indeed she did. She hopes that Albany and France will come to a parle*. However, because thy lady has power, there is not a need for us to be hawked * at.Cordelia makes eye contact with servant 1 and 3. We presume that Cordelia heard the servants mention about a parle
CORDELIA
Something you'd like to share with me?SERVANT 1
We were discussing about your dinner plans with some soldiers from France, my lady.CORDELIA
Don't try to beguile* me. Do you want to be put in the stocks?SERVANT 1
No my lady.CORDELIA
Aroint* thee!KING OF FRANCE
Methinks that this is not reasonable Cordelia. We have a dinner to attend with the soldiers, as thy servants have recalled.Cordelia is clearly offended that the King Of France is standing up for the servants, who have no say in the kingdom.
CORDELIA
I can conclude that this is my kingdom not thy servants, therefore you must be distempered* to let them get away with this.KING OF FRANCE
My lady, they are not fell* servants.SERVANT 3
I beseech* you my lady, thy father wouldn't want this for thy kingdom.CORDELIA
My father wouldn't have commended* the Kingdom if he didn't think I was not capable to be in charge. As a woman, that is a swelling* achievement. Stop being a goose* and prepare the meals for dinner instantly, before you end up like that bastard*SERVANT 3
When will Edgar be returning?CORDELIA
The sooner a parle occurs, the sooner he returns. Now remove* yourselves.Exit servants.
