One of the sole reasons I'm including soft grunge as its own catagory and not shoving it under the mothership theme of "Hipster" is the fact that every fucking person on the whole goddamn united nation of tumblr has some form of strong emotion about this kind of blog. I don't know how else to describe it. I'm willing to bet that about half of all blogs on the website are some kind of soft grunge whatever, and the others are just left sitting there with some mix of either jealousy, anger, confusion, mockery or miserable understanding burning in there stomaches.
According to the super reliable sources of the internet, (Urban Dictionary), Soft Grunge is A term generally used to describe modern-day teenagers, typically girls between the ages of 14-18, who like create a "hardcore" persona on Tumblr by reblogging pictures of inverted crosses, dip-dyed hair, ying-yang symbols and toilets.
From how I see it, Soft Grunge is some sort of support group/cult made up of the following "side themes" of grunge blog:
~ Kawaii Grunge
~Minimalistic
~Dark grunge????
~Kawaii Grunge~
Kawaii Grunge is a kind of sort grunge blog where majority of their posts seem to be made up of a quote with dripping text overtop of a pink/purple tinted nature scene, every exsisting thing put into pastel colors and innocent sounding subtle rape theats.
But clearly on Tumblr, anything that naive seeming is clearly covered up by puppies and
~Pretty and Pale~
Minimalistic bloggers, or as I take pride in calling them, "Albino Hipsters", mainly consists of teenage girls who want to seem way older, by reblogging stuff like bras and run-down hotels and wrinkled bed sheets in attempt of seeming way deeper and more spiritual than their real-life 13-year-old iq level. To be a "pretty and pale blogger", it appears you have to:
-have a boringly simplistic theme
- have a song on auto-play which no one has ever heard of (obviously)
- Always show off how intensely deep and edgy you are
- smoke
And pretty much carry along living your attempted 17 year old life wishing you weren't so lonely and wanting a sex life.

I really feel like I don't need to explain this one that much. Really just take a minimalist if blogger and turn every picture black. Voila.
