Chapter 13

It's October here and as we drove I was watching all the leaves fall from the trees. We pulled into my driveway. Blade reluctantly opened the door with a solemn look on his face and opened my door. "What's wrong hun?" I said studying his face and posture. He looked so alone. "Nothing I am just scared." He said eyeing my face. He took my hand and helped me out of the car.  Blade. Scared?  That's something he has never admitted to. That's something he's never shown openly before.  "Why?" I asked unlocking my front door. I slowly took a step inside. "You're in danger Amy. I don't know what I would do if I lost you." He said setting his back pack on the dinning room table. I stopped and just looked at him for a few seconds. Then I walked up to him slowly like he was a wounded puppy, when I got to him I hugged him and said "I can handle myself you won't lose anything." I said gazing into his eyes seeing nothing but longing.

I walked up to my room and straight across to my dresser. On top was an antique jewelry box I had found in a thrift store a month after I showed up on this earth. In the box it held a jeweled necklace. The pendant was a crystal a black onyx actually. I put the chain around my neck and pulled out a ring blade had given me on my birthday five months ago. I slipped the ring on my finger closed the box and gathered some of my clothes and my combat boots. I Put them in a suitcase and went to go to the shower and grab my shampoo and other necessities when I found my medicine cabinets opened. Some of my stuff was missing too. I really don't need medicine so I had put mineral supplements in there for when I needed strength. We normal legends can catch colds and other sicknesses just like the normal human we just get rid of them faster just like my leg. "The people hunting me must have come here looking for me." I whispered to myself.

I walked over to my suitcase and closed it up and I was downstairs in a matter of seconds. "What's bothering you love?" Blade asked me watching my head hang low in worry. "My minerals where stolen." I said looking up at him. "What?!" He said standing up from the counter he was perched on. "Those are only to be used by gem or crystal nyx's. If anyone else uses them they can become dangerous or be in danger themselves." He said. " I know they must have taken them when they where looking for me. Don't worry I would hope they know better than to take something so dangerous." I said hopefully. "I hope so. Do you have everything you need?" He asked. "Yes." I walked over to my suitcase and put it in the car.  Just as I was about to shut the hatch on the Trunk I feel a hand on the small of my back. "I'm sorry." I say not turning around. "For what?" Blade said moving closer to pull me into a hug from behind. "I am putting you all through so much trouble." I said laying my head back on his shoulder. "There is no need to feel sorry about your safety my love." He said rocking me back and forth. He then spun me around and kissed me. " I don't want to hear another sorry from your lips again." He said pulling me into his chest. I pulled away "we should get going." I said planting a kiss on his cheek.
