I was so excited about tonight. It was finally the night I had looked forward to my whole life, Prom night.
I know, I know, it's really cheesie and all and I don't really fit the part of the prom queen but I have always wanted that. I always wanted to go to prom with a supper hot boyfriend and look drop dead goregous and have that momment when everyone just looks at me and everyone wants to be me or be with me.
It's not going to work like that though, I didn't have a supper hot boyfriend to go to prom with me, and I doubt I'll be prom queen, but, at least I look beautiful. Sure there is a few things I would like to change, but I look amazing. My normally crazy curly red hair was in a more tame curl in a cute updo. I was wearing a black ballroom type Victorian dress.
I took a picture of myself and sent it to my best friend Destery. Saying 'Time for prom, I really wish you were here!' Sadly he couldn't come to my prom because money issues and he just has to live on the other side of the states.
He replied saying 'Im happy for you, tonight is going to be perfect.'
I sent 'nothing is perfect without you.'
My mom yelled from downstairs that my friends were here.
I walked out and saw Lumps. I picked up my dress and ran down the stairs.
"Really Ashy, you are wearing converse?"
"Yes Lumps, why wear heels? So I can be uncomfortable? Lets get real." I laughed.
"Oh whatever, TO THE LIMO!" She yelled.
We ran to the Limo, I jumped in, glad to see my friends. I was going with Cassidy, she was a girl that was really pretty and had short brown hair, I think she is half black but I have never asked. We also had Ryan, my friend seance I was a baby. He is like a brother. He has long straight green hair. Then there is Lumps. Lumps is a friend I met online and we were friends for 2 years online then her parents decided to move from Florida to California. So she has lived by me seance then. She has long brown hair, normally wavy. but tonight she had it in really pretty loose curls.
"Hey guys." I smiled.
"Oh my gods Ashley you look beautiful." Ryan smiled.
"Thanks." I smiled.
We drove to the convention center at hotel where they were putting on prom. We gave them our tickets and went inside.
I was shocked, the room was decorated beautifully. It was winter wonderland themed. I was overwhelmed by all the decorations. The music had already started.
Pretty soon more and more people showed up till I was pretty sure there would be no one else coming.
Suddenly the lights dimmed. Then a song I was shocked to hear started to play. I wasn't sure this was really happening. It was Caves of Ice. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Lumps. She pointed over to a stage. I turned my head and saw Destery standing on the stage. He started singing. People around me started to part away and pretty soon there was a clear path between me and the stage.
I was so shocked I couldn't move. A spot light was on me. My heart was racing, this had to be a dream, there was no way something this good could be happening. I wanted Lumps hand but I was afraid if I turned to look for her that Destery would be gone. I reached back without taking my eyes off of him. I quickly felt someones hand in mine. I knew it was Lumps because of her rings and bracelets.
She whispered in my ear. "Surprise"
I was fighting back tears of joy. As the song came into the final chorus Destery jumped off the stage and walked towards me. I started walking to him, letting go of Lumps only when she was arms length apart from me.
