Song: Westlife What Makes A Man

Sam left the bar after witnessing his best friend singing to his girl. Or was she even his to begin with?! Well...yes damn it, Rachel Barbra Berry was HIS.

Women, scoffed Sam. From Quinn to Rachel. And all the girls in-between. Mercedes. Can he ever find the one he can give his all to. Maybe it's karma for trying to give Quinn a promise ring before he even knew what lasting love was.

All he knew was Rachel needed to make up her mind. This drama was hurting his head and his heart. Sure Sue may have tried to hypnotize him, but his feelings for Rachel were 100 percent true.

Sam drove home and wanted to just be alone. He needs to clear his head. He grabbed a beer from his refrigerator and popped the top. He took a huge swig from the bottle. He glanced at the photo frame on the coffee table. She was everywhere. How she had wormed her way into his heart so fast... Maybe he was overreacting? Maybe it's time to either put a ring on it or simply just walk away. Walk away from her. No matter what he did, would he ever be enough? She is Broadway royalty for goodness sake. He was cut off from his thoughts by the knock on the door. Sigh. So much for time alone.

Sam walked to the door, checking the peep hole. Damn it it was her... Rachel.

Sam opened the door, and he saw the Bambi eyes he fell in love with. She looked sad. Whatever. Maybe she should get back with Puck.

"Rachel," Sam said. "Partying over with?"

"Excuse me?" Rachel asked with a confused glance at her blond boyfriend. Or was he still?

"I saw you Rachel, you and Puck always had chemistry," Sam replied.

"I don't want Noah," she responded.

Sam let her enter his apartment. He tried to keep some distance.

"Do you even know what you want? I don't think you do Rachel." he said.

"I need time, " Rachel replied.

"I don't know how much more I can deal with this, Rachel."

"What do you mean?"

Sam took her hand, sadness in his eyes. Rachel looked like she was holding tears back.

"What Makes A Man" (A/N: Westlife)

(Sam)

This isn't goodbye, even as I watch you leave, this isn't goodbye
I swear I won't cry, even as tears fill my eyes, I swear I won't cry

Any other girl, I'd let you walk away
Any other girl, I'm sure I'd be ok

Tell me what makes a man
Wanna give you all his heart
Smile when you're around
And cry when you're apart
If you know what makes a man
Wanna love you the way I do
Girl you gotta let me know
So I can get over you

What makes her so right?
Is it the sound of her laugh?
That look in her eyes
When do you decide?
She is the dream that you seek
That force in your life

When you apologize, no matter who was wrong
When you get on your knees if that would bring her home

Tell me what makes a man
Wanna give you all his heart
Smile when you're around
And cry when you're apart
If you know what makes a man
Wanna love you the way I do
Girl you gotta let me know

So that I can get over you

Other girls will come along, they always do
But what's the point when all I ever want is you, tell me

Tell me what makes a man
Wanna give you all his heart
Smile when you're around
And cry when you're apart
If you know what makes a man
Wanna love you the way I do
Girl you gotta let me know..... (let me know)
Girl you gotta let me know..... (wooo)
So I can get over you

"Just tell me what the hell you want Rachel??"

Rachel stayed silent. Sam sighed and walked to the door. He knew this would be hard for him to do, but they needed space. She needed to decide who and what she wants.

"Well..guess that answers my question," he said.

"I didn't say anything, Samuel!?!"

"If you knew what you wanted, you wouldn't hesitate. When you know for sure then call me. For now we need space." He said.

Rachel was shocked. How did they get to this point. She wants Sam. Why can't he see that.

"I want you Sam."

"I want you too, but I'm done competing. It's not fair to either of us. I do so much for you yet tell me what you're looking for, because obviously I'm not him. I need to learn how to let you go."

Rachel walked over to kiss him. She knew he was right. She hadn't been fair nor given her complete heart. She would give him time. But not for long.

Sam kissed her back. After several minutes, they pulled apart.

"I'll go for now. But this isn't goodbye, Sam." Then Rachel left.

Sam closed the door, back against door and let out a sob.

" I hope it isn't. I love you, Rach."
