I promise the chapters will get more descriptive I've just gotta get the Bill ball rolling

Oh, Calvin.
The boy you've known since fifth grade. The rich boy who pushed you in the dirt at the ripe age of 11 and sneered at you for being less wealthy than him. The boy who ran up to you the next day, sobbing, with a juice box, a cookie, and a heartfelt apology (that wasn't prompted by his parents!) that made you his best friend. The boy who you saved from the cops, the wrath of his parents, and the heartbreak of gold diggers. He bound your name to a demon.
A freaking demon.
"What?" Numbly, you released your grip on his shoulders and let your mouth fall open. Poor little Calvin could only watch in fear as your expression contorted into one of disbelief, then anger. "Tell me this is a joke."
"I'm sorry!" He wailed. "I was reading from one of my books out loud and I just subbed in your name where it told me to, and now there's a crazy, floating man destroying my house!" He began leaning forward to land his chin on your shoulder. You backed away and watched him land face first on the floor. "Ow."
"Well, what is he going to do? Possess my body?" Any other person would laugh in Calvin's face and tell him he was crazy, but you've been around long enough to know that around him, the paranormal was no joke. The two of you screwed with an Ouija board in 6th grade, which left you a little more open-minded but overall unfazed. Calvin, however, became obsessed. That's when you thought he was crazy. After he accidentally sent a few ghosts a goblins after you, you just think he's stupid.
"No, I think you just have to keep him under control."
You gave him an unamused expression. "Wow, what a less daunting task."
The two of you had a stare off in the middle of the hallway. Your (color) eyes were sharp as you tried to scare Calvin off, but his large, sad hazel eyes melted your heart before you could strike fear in his. Heavily sighing, you stood and gripped the door handle.
"You will be behind me every step I take," You commanded. He nodded and jumped up, taking a moment to blow the strands of his brown hair that fell in his face. Regaining your courage with a deep breath, you swung the door open and glared at the room with the fiercest gaze you could muster. "Demon, halt!" You cried out with your eyes screwed shut, hoping your voice sounded authoritative and not nearly as scared as you felt.
A beat of silence passed, then laughter filled the room.
"My, my, is this the lovely (Y/n) I am hereby bound to for the rest of her existence?" A loud, energetic voice asked, seemingly synthesized in nature. You glanced around and slowly made your way to the center of the room, trying to find the demon amid the splintered wooden furniture and shattered glass from screens or anything else breakable. From behind you, a voice made you flinch when it exclaimed, "Pleased to meet ya!"
You flinched and twisted around, the tip of your nose bumping into another. Before you stood a man, boot clad feet hovering at about your knee length and bent at the waist to be at eye level with you. Everything on him was either black- boots, pants, dress shirt, gloves, even his eye patch (which you decided to ask about later)- or yellow, like his vest, which stretched down into a coat tail in the back. It was a little blinding, honestly, but your eyes adjusted rather quickly.
"Oh, the lady's speechless. It's nice to get a proper reaction upon my arrival, you know?" The man asked, materializing a cane to slam on the ground. You jumped back, watching as he gently floated down. "Or an acceptable one, at least."
Calvin shut the door and carefully made his way to stand right behind you, his shoulder brushing the back of yours. The demon smirked at his small show of support. "Ah, there's the coward that forced his girlfriend into watching over a demon! Calvin, right? How's ol' Vinny boy sound to you?"
"Don't call me that," Calvin answered, his voice low. The demon glanced at you. It took a moment for you to realize that was his way of asking if he should listen to the request.
"Just call him Calvin," you advised. With a small pout and an even smaller nod, the demon leaned on his cane and eyed the two of you. "And he's not my boyfriend."
"Oh, I know!" The man chirped, suddenly more chipper. "I know lots of things! Things about the universe, about the world, and about you."
Your head started swimming as you tried to comprehend exactly what the heck was happening. However, there wasn't exactly anywhere for you to sit, seeing as the only thing left of the couch was the shattered remnants on the floor. Almost like a disappointed mother, you put a hand to your forehead and asked, "Why did you destroy Vinny's apartment?"
The demon looked around him then grinned. "I thought it could use a little redecorating!" One look at your face made him shy away- literally, he took a step away from you. "Okay...I was trapped in a rock for six years and got a little carried away."
"Well, can you put it back together?"
The demon's face fell momentarily. "Sure."
With a snap of his fingers, the furniture pieces began to arrange themselves in the way they must've been before they were destroyed. For a moment the shards of furniture only hovered in the shape it was supposed to take, the pieces refusing to touch each other. You watched the man in front of you then flick his hand. Small streaks of light bounced between the pieces like lightening bolts as they trembled slightly, then everything joined together all at once.
"Weird," Calvin murmured, leaving your side to test out the couch. When it didn't break under his weight, he gave you a thumbs up. You sat next to him, leaning your back against his shoulder and keeping your gaze on the man before you.
"So, you're a demon," you started carefully.
"Yessiree! Bill Cipher, pleased to make your acquaintance." He approached you in a way that made you feel mildly intimidated. Bill grabbed your hand, about to make a show of kissing it, but your weary glance made him settle for a friendly handshake instead. "Your friend here, snobby rich boy turned good, paranormal enthusiast, good old Calvin, he summoned me while playing with his little books, as you know-" Bill explained, halting when you cut him off.
"And now you're bound to me, which means...?"
"My my, right to the point. I like that," Bill complimented. "Let's just say I got into some trouble a while back and was almost destroyed forever." He flicked his hand, talking as though he were bored with what he was saying. "Thanks to a nifty little curse of sorts, I managed to arrange a way for me to come back!
"I won't get into the details tonight- your thoughts are screaming for sleep. But, long story short, I am allowed to reign freely within the rules you set for me." He then sat on the spot next to you, taking care to not be too close to you.
You had buckets of questions left, but Bill was right- your mind was hurting from trying to comprehend what was happening, and the headache was making you beg for rest. Sighing, you tilted your head back to look at Calvin.
"Vinny?" You asked in a sickeningly sweet voice. "Can Bill sleep on the couch tonight?"
Calvin let out a long grunt, followed by an evil side eye directed at Bill. "Do demons even need sleep?"
Bill answered for you. "Nope!"
"But he needs a place to stay. Please?" This time, you widened your eyes and pouted a little. Calvin caved fairly quickly, probably more out of annoyance than weakness for your puppy eyes.
"Fine. Just tell him not to make a mess of things," He agreed, standing abruptly. You fell back, unable to catch yourself. After Calvin stomped off to his room, you popped yourself up on an elbow and looked at Bill.
"Bill, no destroying the living room tonight, okay?" You asked, standing up. "Please?"
"You have my word, (Y/n)."
Satisfied, you nodded and left to get some pillows for him, oblivious to the mischievous smirk forming on the demon's face.
