I look at the two around me and the man in front of me. He has the same key shaped weapon as us and the guys in black from this morning seemed to have feared mine. So I assume it's safe to say Tobleman isn't a threat.
I lower my sword and try to calm the flames around me. I feel a chill to my left and a breeze to my right. It seems as though we each have different elements we specialize in. I'm fire, Cheerleader Girl is ice and Loser Boy is wind. Tobleman is an earthly element.
I take my observations and store them in my mind. I go back to trying to calm the flames, to no avail. But my mind trickles to another question. I begin to wonder how the bloody hell the floor isn't burning through. I suspect Yukia as my contradiction but I cancel the thought when I see the flames stop everywhere, not just on Yukia's side. I then notice Tobleman's eyes scanning my flame trail. He's keeping them at bay.
"Alright so tell me what the hell is going on with us? Why do we have these key-sword things you call keyblades and who were those bastards in black?" I fire off to Tobleman.
"Great questions Ean, I'd be happy to answer. You three have the power of the keyblade, which means that you all have hearts that appeal to your keyblades. After all, they did choose you of all people. You haven't realized your power because you haven't needed them until now I assume. Those "bastards" in black are members of a group called Organization XIII. They are shadows of people with very strong hearts. They're considered those people's nobodies." Tobleman explains.
"Well why are they after us? They mentioned something about testing our abilities and showing what we could do," the cheerleader named Yukia inquires.
"Yeah, they said they were collecting data and sharing it to Xemnas. At least the guy I fought did." nerdy boy, Kaze, pipes in.
"Ah yes, Xemnas. He's the leader of the group. He wields a set of twin laser blades and gray hair. He is quite dangerous." Tobleman answers.
I recognize him as one of the men who infiltrated my house. "Yeah, he was one of the guys who broke into my house this morning." I speak aloud.
"Oh, they know where you live? Well that's not good at all. You three may not be able to go home then. I'll have to send warriors to protect your families and you three must stay away from them as to not put them into danger." Tobleman tells us.
Yukia's body shivers and I don't think it's from the ice she's emitting. "But what about my mom and sister? How will I know that they're fine? How will they know that I'm fine?" she cries out in worry.
"I just said that I'll send warriors to protect them. They'll watch them from the shadows. I'll tell each of your parents that you are all going on a school trip outside the country with all expenses paid. They'll be fine with the news, as I have magic that can convince them to be content. Everything will be fine," Tobleman tries to reassure us.
"OK. Well where are we staying? You got a place for us to live?" I challenge him. I'm not exactly on board with just leaving with this man.
"Oh, not at the moment. But living space isn't a problem. A quick shot of a keyblade and you have a home and food. Pretty much all that a teen could ask for. And you'll still be attending school so that you don't miss class while you're out on your 'trip' of sorts." he plainly says. He's so nonchalant that I'm feeling a little skeptical of him. "Anyways, we have training to get to. Enough debriefing. You three have to grow stronger and learn teamwork amongst each other in order to protect yourselves and most likely this city from the Organization. We know not of their plans but we want to be ready for whatever they're thinking about doing."
Tobleman splits the room in half and separates it. We fall through the ground for about 2 seconds into a room empty except for the cave like appearance and the mechanized holes in the wall. He makes us stand, each with our backs to each other.
"Now, let's see if any of you can protect yourself from the volley of balls that shoot out of the wall. Have fun!" his voice echoes through the space and he's nowhere in sight. As I examine the dimly lit rocks and stalactites, I hear mechanics whirring. Guns push out of the holes and cock back, ready to fire.
"Get ready, you two. Those things could fire any mi-" I advise.
And the balls begin to fly our way.
