Chapter 22, Final

Cole's POV

I closed my eyes thinking of Brent, I let the words I said play in my mind. “Wait for me,” is he really going to wait for me? The sound of waves crashing together started to slowly fade away. I was back in High World, my heart sank, what was I expecting? See Brent beside me and safe again? I regret everything I did to him, I should have accepted him more sooner, uhhh I have to stop this whole pity thing! I have to go find him.

I looked around; thick smoke surrounded me, it was so difficult to breathe...wait. I just noticed the shadows abandoned me again. Apparently they love to play hide-and-seek. Assclowns, whatever I can do this thing alone. While I fought with my body to stand up straight wards, I saw one thing shocking. The gate, leading to the town was completely melted down by the flames. I thought golden gates don't melt, huh, and I think my mouth was open wide because I started coughing. I took in a whole lot of smoke, eww. I need to be serious jeez.

The fact that everything was burning didn't surprise me, will it kinda did... When Brent stared at me with complete emptiness and said I had to 'kill' him, I knew something like this would happen. Brent is insane! I'm not killing him either! I pushed the thought behind me, I have to save him. While I was thinking of one of my best-est ever so stupidest plans I didn’t notice I was so close to the town. Well, I was feeling smoking hot....no not the good kind, this heat was really something. Where are the firefighters? Jeez it's not the best day to wear a suit, it sucks baboons.

Man, I didn't come up with a decent plan.

Plan A: Run in, save him and out I should go

I shook my head and walked around the melted gate. Would it be weird if I took some of the gold in this situation?

I had to tear my stare off the gold and back towards the important stuff, something brushed passed me. I shivered in respond, I was pretty damn scared to because I didn't see anything; just people wearing a white sheet above their heads.

Ohhh crap, it's a ghost...wait I dont believe in that foolishness. What in the craps is that? A herd of wild dead things came running towards ,hmmm never mind. They are way to beautiful to be zombies. Angels maybe? As the group slowly passed me, each pair of eyes met mine. Covered in mask of horror the frighten angels ran out of their own town. Their white suits were torn, some people didn't even have their wings. It honestly looked like it was going to be a long day, because this whole scene resembled a suckers dancing class. Yeah, horrible scene.

Without anyone arguing with me, I walked my ass through the smoke. I stopped to see that there were still others left trying to save the burning town. Instead of the white suits, these were wearing bright blue. Buckets of water appeared out of thin air, and they were fighting against the growing flames.

Hmmm...I need to learn that trick, water appearing when I want it. Oh I could just see me now, sitting on the couch being lazy. I could only laugh by my thought. Forget about the ones wearing blue, there are unicorns escaping fire! Okay I'm impressed.

Focus Cole, Focus. I need to find Brent then I can go after the unicorns. I started walking deeper into the town, it was empty and the smoke was making it difficult to see. It also felt like I was an astronaut, I wasn’t really walking, I was bouncing on the clouds like a little kid.

A slight shift from the winds, made me stop cold. My eyes went wide in shock, yes there in front of me was this gigantic hole in the clouds!

Oh crap, I can see under me. Shit i'm so high up, I started seeing everything spinning around me. My stomach was dancing and hands shaking. I closed my eyes, I hate my fear of heights
