I rush through the forest as the lights grew dim, driven onward by the pouring rain. It had been a light rain at first, but it had soon become a downpour, and the ground was growing muddy under my feet. I wasn't expecting a storm like this! The road was overgrown with trees and bushes, but I hurried as best I could to escape the rain.
All of a sudden the trees parted and I found myself in a clearing. A castle I'd never seen before loomed ahead of me in the darkness. Something about it's sudden appearance worried me, and I took a step back.
The rain showed no sign of stopping, and I was drenched and shivering from the cold. My heart was racing with fear, but I approach the castle and pushed open the heavy door open. As soon as I stepped inside, the door closed behind me with an ominous creak.
The interior was completely dark, and I stared around me trying to make out something in the gloom. Suddenly the candles in their holders on the wall lit, one by one.
I blink at the sudden light. Where the hell am I? I look around and nothing, just a beautiful corridor with a red carpet. I feel bad that my clothes are dripping off on the nice floor. I move forward, hearing my footsteps echo through the hall. A shiver runs down my spine. I don't like this one bit.
This place gives me the creeps. When I reached the end of the corridor I look to my left, where the corridor goes on into darkness that I didn't like. Looking to my right the corridor does the same. I don't like it so I turn on my heel.
I almost gasped looking back to where there was once a door. It's covered in a dark fog. I turn my body again and everything is covered in fog. I can no longer see the walls with the candles.
I look down at my soaked feet, the ground isn't a beautiful red carpet but bones. I shrieked at the horror. I tried stepping back but tripped over something. I started falling back on the bones. I grunt at the pain from falling and rolling in hard bones.
I finally hit an end to the falling. I gasp for breath when the impact forced all the air out my lungs. Pealing myself off the ground I look up. My scream caught in my thoughts. Monsters!! There all around me. Hideous creatures with torn faces, scales, claws and the most deadly glares. They start making a shrieking sound, like someone clawing at a plate. I held my ears and shut my eyes tight from pain.
The sound made my ears want to burst. I can't bare it. The sound, I hated it. I start to open my eyes. The things were coming closer taking step by step. I instantly start moving back, that only made them come at me faster. I ran. They followed me full speed. I screamed when a hand grabbed my shoulder.
"Ash! " it calls my name, I scream more.
"Ashley!!" I hear a familiar voice calling my name out. I stop struggling and my eyes shoot open.
I see Ron sitting in front of me. Eyes filled with concern. I put my hands on his ones that are on my shoulders. His hair is messy. I probably woke him up.
"Ash Breath..." he says and I finally remembered to tack in a breathe. I chuckled at first. Then breathed. "Thank you. " my voice comes out rough probably because I woke up in shock.
I look up at Ron who finally let out a sigh of relief. He pulls me into a hug. I lean on his chest. I'm shacking he probably already noticed. He traces circles on my back. "It's only a dream, it's okay. I'm here. " he whispers softly kissing the top of my head.
I can feel the hot tears run down my face from the shock. I manage to lift my shaky hands to hug my best friend back. "Sorry I woke you. " I apologize on instinct.
"Don't worry about it I needed a new alarm clock anyway." we both laugh. I gotta say he always knows how to make me laugh. I slightly punch his chest. "Jerk. " I giggle shifting in his arms.
