Prem and Wad ❤️ #SOTUS

An Understanding

It was now Thursday evening and Wad should be arriving Soon. Prem has been cleaning his room all day, dusting every nook and cranny. He even went grocery shopping but he didn't know what snacks Wad liked so he got a variety of them.

*knock knock* his heart ❤️ started to race again, he knew it was Wad. He open the door.

"Good evening P'"

"Come on in Wad and let's get started"

They studied for about 3 hours taking a few breaks here and there then Wad finally felt like he grasped most of the concepts.

"P' I think I've got everything down now, thank you so much for helping, I'll head out now."
Prem desperate to keep him a little longer quickly grabbed his arm quickly.

"Hold on a sec, I was wondering if you were coming on the beach trip that's Saturday and Sunday? It'll be a lot of fun, it's a great way to relieve stress after the exams."
Wad let out a sigh and sat back down.

"I'm sorry but I can't."

"Why not?"

"I have to go back home on the weekends to help my mom with her shop"

"I'm sure your mom would understand, Wad."

"Yea, I know she would because she's such a caring woman but I don't want her to understand.."

"Why?"

"Nothing, I'll be going now P'" As he got back up to leave, Prem grabbed him and sat him back still holding him and fiercely looking into his eyes.

"Wad, you can talk to me, you can't walk around carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders alone, let me share some of that weight. Remember it's my duty to protect you"
Still staring into each other eyes after the last sentence Prem could see tears building up in Wad's eyes. Wad then lowered his eyes from Prem and began to speak.

"My dad left my mom when I was six and my younger was 3 for the lady down the street and he never looked back, he abandoned his family for that lady and was even more fatherly to her son who was older than me so when I entered high school he was my senior. He and his friends would constantly bully me and he would spread rumours around the school that my father left my mom for his because my mom was useless, after that day I got into trouble regularly for fighting with him and his friends but they didn't get in trouble because they were seniors and that's why hated my seniors. My mom sacrificed everything to raise us and all with a smile on her face and when people in the neighbourhood would look down on her because her husband left her she kept on smiling for the sake of us. She's been there for me my entire life and I just want to show her my gratitude every chance I get."

Wad started to sob and cry uncontrollably. Prem was dumbfounded he had no ideas Wad was carrying such a load by himself. Feeling helpless he pulled Wad closer to him placed his head on his chest, used one hand to hug him and the next to caress his head.

"Wad, don't be sad, you're really lucky to have such an amazing mother and she's lucky to have such a caring son as you" Prem said trying to console his junior.

Wad was crying inside of Prem's arms for about 15 minutes then he raised his head. It was pouring rain outside but they hadn't realized until now.

"I think I should go now." Wad said his voice shaking and his eyes red.

"No, it's raining outside and I don't think you're in a state to be by yourself right now, you'll sleep here tonight."

"P' it's okay I'm fine"

"No, it's not okay!" Prem snapped. Wad looked up in surprise to see Prem on the verge of tears

"Wad, please let me take care of you too, let me show you what it means to be a good senior."

Wad broke down crying again but this time he was the one to go into Prem's arms to hug him. Prem knew this meant that he would stay the night.

"You'll sleep on the bed, I will sleep on the floor"

"P' its okay you-"

"No you'll sleep on the bed"

"P'...I meant to say that you can sleep on the bed with me too"
