Sofia's POV
I never thought that love existed. I couldn't really remember if I ever have been in love. I know that I have loved people, and I do love people now. But I am not in love. I'm a dreamer. I have a huge imagination, and all I think about is falling in love with the perfect person. No matter what background they came from. The usual romance novels or movies usually have people from totally different backgrounds fall in love. True love finds a way.
I am sitting in my chemistry class, day dreaming about romance of course. I was a sucker for love, what could I say? "Sofia, stopping thinking about boys and pay attention," my best friend Valencia whisper/yelled at me. I wasn't dreaming about any boy in particular. I haven't found one to actually like yet.
After my class was over and the bell rang, it was time for lunch. I walked to my locker with Val, listening to her talk about her loving boyfriend. Which was definitely cute, but I was so jealous, so I usually tuned her out. I wanted that.
I opened up my locker and saw the legs of someone behind them almost immediately. I push my locker slightly closed to see Camren. He was the quarterback for our football team here in LA Heights. But I never thought anything of him. He thought too highly of me on the other hand. He was down right obsessed with me and tried everything to impress me. But none of it actually worked.
"Hi Camren, how can I help you?" I asked with a sigh in my tone. I grabbed my books and shut my locker, beginning to walk. If you can't tell me what you want, then boy bye.
"No wait, I was wondering if you could possibly come to my party tonight. It is the last day of school, summer break. We are all going to college in a few months. Don't you want to get one last hook up in?" He asked smirking. I slapped him in the face. Everyone stopped what they were doing in the cafeteria to watch us.
"I don't know what you mean by one more hook up when we never even hooked up in the first place! Stop spreading lies, go to college and find some freshman to mess with. But this will be the last day you ever see me. So get one thing straight, we will never ever be anything. You need to stop fantasizing over something that will never happen!" I yelled and walked away. I don't care if he is hurt or anything. He has been bothering me since the eighth grade.
Everyone watched me go sit at my usual table, but then went back to their own conversations. "Damn Sofia, I would have said that years ago if I were you," Val said. I just giggled a bit and went to eating my lunch. "So are you seriously going to Mexico for your birthday?" She whined and I nodded.
"My grandma wants me to spend the summer with her and grandpa. My whole family is down there, I can't say no. And I think it would be good to spend some time with all of my cousins. I'll be sure to send you a post card," I explained to her that it was a choice. I wouldn't go to a different country forced. Maybe I'll even find love. Who know what Mexico has in store for me.
When I got home I began packing, I leave tomorrow morning for the airport. I have been postponing my packing for far too long. I started with my makeup. I pride myself in makeup, I've put up a bunch of makeup tutorials and vlogs on YouTube and they have gotten quite a bit of views. I don't post that many. A few people comment every time and ask for more. But I just don't have time sometimes. But of course I will this summer! I put all of my camera equipment, I kept my vlogging camera out for my carry on. I then packed all of my clothes into my suitcase. I packed so many because I didn't know how many I would need. I have three suitcases and a carry on. I packed so many articles of clothing into one huge suitcase that it wasn't even funny.
I can't wait to visit my grandparents and view the cities and towns of Mexico. My summer is about to be the best summer ever. But I keep forgetting to tell my parents about college. They think I'm going to UCLA. And that's great, because I got in. But I don't want to go. I want to continue making videos for a living. I think I'll wait until I get back to tell them.
