By the time that the three Alphas that called New York City home had finally gathered just outside Fort Tilden, it was half past four, there was a rotten stench in the air, and Bane was asleep under a nearby tree. Or, at least, he was trying to sleep. The sun in his eyes no matter where he positioned himself, the buzzing of flies around three rotting corpses, and the growing stench of the three corpses had put the lone Wolf into quite the mood and a nap wasn't happening. The moment that Bane had scented the approaching Wolves, he began mentally cursing them and their bloodlines to hell and back for making him stay out here when he could've been catching hours of precious sleep.
He had every intention of telling the Alphas what he thought of them and where exactly they could take the crime scene and shove it, but that line of thought was immediately shut down when they broke the tree line and came into sight. All three of them were tense and there was a good three feet between each of them. It'd been a long time since the three of them could be relaxed in each others presence. The only reason they weren't at starting to get at each others throats was probably due to Bane's presence. Even the most hostile of Alphas would close ranks in the presence of a lone Wolf.
But that didn't mean the three of them would enjoy the little reunion.
Bane stayed under his tree as he watched the three of them. It'd been a couple months since he had seen them all together and he liked watching them together. There was something in Bane that liked knowing the three were doing well. And that probably wasn't the worst reaction to have.
If an ordinary human woman had seen them all lined up like such, Bane had no doubts that said woman would be creaming in her panties and either fainting or throwing herself at the three. And he didn't need to see it happen to know that those things actually happened; it was well-known in certain circles that the three Alphas were rarely without a new flavor of the month in their beds. Though, North was careful how often he brought women into his bed due to his son; for him, it was more of some flavor of the month had him in their beds.
"Bane," North's voice carried through the small clearing, calling him over after a few minutes of discussion between the Alphas. Anyone else and Bane would probably have thought they were rude basterds and called them on it for purposefully ignoring him but Bane had grown up knowing that Alphas would ignore a lone Wolf to establish dominance and tell the Wolf that they weren't a threat. So, when Bane was invited to approach the three, he stood from his spot, swiped up his satchel of equipment, and made his way lazily across the clearing. His slow walk probably angered the Wolves inside each Alpha but this was the way that Bane told them they could go fuck themselves if they thought he was gonna bend to their power and do whatever they told him.
"Alphas," Bane greeted them all with a slight nod of his head. Maddox and Wolfe dipped their heads in greeting as North stepped forward to greet him. They all made small talk for a few moments, asking after each other and their families. Even at a crime scene, pleasantries were required.
"So," Maddox turned to Bane after a minute. "Bring us up to date."
A nasty part of Bane wanted to tell the Alpha to 'say please', but he managed to force that part down as he turned his back on the three Wolves to face the clearing. He could practically hear all three of them stiffen and he had to stifle the urge to grin like a maniac; a very big part of Bane was severely fucked in the head.
"So, the Rogue struck again," he commented. He placed the satchel on the ground, jammed his hands into his pockets, and started into the clearing.
