"Noelle?"
I glanced up and searched for the source of the voice.
I grinned when I saw a crazy-ass bitch dressed in hot pink, mouth wide-open as she gaped at me.
"Waddup, chica!" I called back.
A high-pitched shriek filled my ears as my best-friend came charging at me. I stumbled back in surprise, not ready for the full force of her hug. Uncertainly, I wrapped my arms around my waist, relinquishing the familiarity.
Slowly, the people of our year group realise who we actually are. Whispers and and glances directed to us started to float around the car park. I rolled my eyes. Typical teenagers, always gossiping.
"Where have you been? I was so worried, so was everyone," Shayleigh asked me. Guilt flooded into me.
"We'll explain this at break, but for now lets go to our group, yeah?" I replied, clearly stalling her question. Just as I said that, all my other friends came rushing at me and Tyler giving us hugs and laughing with tears of joy.
According to Shay, our squad was know as the jocks/players. The guys in our group were usually the 'hump and dump' people, therefore the name. Us girls, we just tag along, if you know what I mean.
Other squads were goths, emo, nerds, barbies(I prefer plastics), and neutrals.
"And, the Bad Boys," she whispered secretively into my ear.
I threw my head back and laughed, "A bit clichéd don't you think?"
She rolled her eyes and flicked her hair. "Looks like the sass just hasn't disappeared," she muttered under her breath before dragging me out of the group and away from the continuous questioning from my friend.
We walked to the entrance of the school as Shayleigh kept me up with the gossip.
"So Asher and Bree have been dating for 6 months now and are called the golden couple, Xavier put superglue on his Science teacher's teacher last week, Andy started crying when he was rejected by Jessy and-"
"Wait! Noelle!" a male voice called behind me.
"Shit," Shay mumbled
We stopped mid-stride and turned around. There in full glory, stood Colton.
Our friendship (Chance and I's) go way back, but had turned ugly when he decided to bail out on me when I needed him the most.
"What do you want?" I snapped, irritated at his appearance.
"Um...I...uh..."he scratched his neck nervously and blushed.
(Ha! That boy actually had the nerve to blush! Such a rare occurrence.)
"Come on, I don't have all day," I tapped my foot against the ground, impatient to escape this awkward situation.
RIIIIIIIIIG!
Fuck yeah, Saved by the bell. I mentally fist bumped as I had a movie moment when I flipped my hair in his face and walked away like a pro.
Then, I realised I had no idea where to go.
Damn! Three years of being away from this hell hole and I am already forgetting where the office is.
Shayleigh has already disappeared, gone to 'class' I presume.
While I waited for Tyler to catch-up from wherever the hell he went, I looked around my surroundings. I recognised some faces from previous years. Then, I saw them. The group of leather-jacket boys, huddled together and smoking discreetly.
