Harley spent the rest of that night in his bedroom. Wait... 'the' bedroom, not his bedroom. He had isolated himself from people that cared about him. Harley was good at doing that. He never doubted with any of his foster families that they loved him and cared about him, he knew they did - all of them. He did however, doubt their loyalty.
For the last three foster placements, Harley had been able to stay at the same school and that was a lifesaver for him. It meant that there was one person he could always see and he knew would always be loyal to him. There was one person that he trusted and looked up to more than anyone he had ever met... His PE teacher.
Mr Redland was the only person that meant a lot to Harley. Harley didn't mind when Mr Redland called him son. In fact, it made Harley feel better, more normal. Harley looked up to him. He saw Mr Redland as his dad.
