Chapter 2

Another day that starts the exact same way screaming for her and then noticing she's nowhere around and then wallowing in my own self-pity since thats all I've been good at the last 6 months. Everyone I've ever loved taken away from me or left on their own noticing I was a lost cause. The same thoughts every morning but I have a feeling it could all change.

It was my first day working at medical after my mom died Abby gave me the choice of coming to work with her but I couldn't bring myself to walk in there again until last week when I asked her if the offer was still open and when she told me it was I decided it was time to turn my life around.

As I'm walking the labyrinth of hallways I keep hearing the name Octavia Blake at first I didn't pay much attention thinking it was just another girl who did something crazy everyone does something every once in a while. What I was not expecting to see was the girl being dragged away towards the holding cells and the most handsome man fighting against a guard trying to get to her. I found it confusing how he was a guard why would a guard be fighting against another guard.

"Hey Mike whats going on?" I asked one my old classmates who was standing around looking as everything was going on. He was nice guy blues eyes black hair really smart too

"Hey Angelina I don't know apparently the girls name is Octavia Blake and the guy is her brother"

"No one has a brother or sister Mike what are you talking about?"

"Well theres a first time for everything I'll see you later" he said as he walked away. I'm not surprised he was never one to really talk for long

"See you later Mike" I told him but he was long gone my eyes still on him. He hadn't notice anyone starring at him since he was too busy fighting against the guard. I could see it in his eyes the love he held for her and I wanted that to.

After everything that happened this morning I couldn't stop thinking about him. The determination that danced around in his eyes, the way he continued to fight for his sister, the freckles that covered his face like stars in the sky (or the way I pictured them anyway), he was fascinating and I couldn't get enough of him. I asked Abby if she knew anything about them once I got to medical since she's also in the council but she turned me away telling me to mind my own business. I couldn't though I wanted to know more and I knew she knew something I could tell.

After I noticed she was busy and not hovering over my shoulder since I got there I snuck out through the an air vent that was loose. I didn't think it through though it was not comfortable but I got to where I needed to be which was on top of the chancellors room, Chancellor Jaha. He was talking to someone most likely Kane another council member I couldn't really see his face but the voice sounded like his.

"What do you suppose we do Chancellor?" asked Kane as he paced around the room rubbing his face, "We can't float her she's not 18 yet and what about the guard? her brother"

"Have you looked into him? Is there anymore information about them?"

"Their mom died and they hid the girl in the floor ever since she was born. His been looking after her ever since then"

"Well... The only thing we can do. Place her as a prisoner and as for him. He is no longer a part of the guard"

"As you wish sir" Kane says as he walks out of the room following the orders

"Bellamy and Octavia Blake" Chancellor Jaha whispered to himself I wondered what he was thinking as I went back towards medical but now I finally knew his name.

I walked back into medical for the last hour of my shift and once again Abby was hovering over my shoulder

"Angelina is this the only thing you've been doing since you got here?" she asked as she retied her long hair into a ponytail again

If she only knew that I hadn't really been here... "Well is the only thing I really know how to do" I responded as I wrapped a bandage around the guys hand since he decided to not be smart and cut his hand open with a knife. I've been muttering the word stupid under my breath ever since I saw him. I asked him how it really happened and he apparently didn't see it on the counter. How the hell does one not see that? I don't know

"Well you could've asked me to teach you something new Angelina"

"Its okay you've been busy plus its not like I won't be coming in here more often this is my new job Abby" I smiled at her

"Your right Your right alright well go home and I'll see you tomorrow"

"Okay thanks I'll see you then" I told her as i walked back towards my room ready to learn more about Bellamy Blake
