The Lady Killer (ON HOLD)

Peace

Ugh, five minutes, five minutes of peaceful rest is all I ask for, but do I get it? Of course not. Is what I think to myself as I make my way to the mission room.

I slip past people without touching a single person in the crowded halls. I hear people whispering about what just happened and pull my hood up over my long redish-brown hair.

"Did you hear what happened in missions check?" I heard one ask.

"Yeah. I can't believe Rain got away with that." another claimed.

"Rain is my hero for that. You don't know how many times I wanted to do that," stated someone.

"But of course Rain's the favorite around here."

"Nobody would have stopped Rain no matter who it was, she's too good at her job."

"Shush, here she comes."

I heard it all, all the insults, compliments and fears of my coworkers. Some loved me, some hated me, some feared me, some just went on with life and few even truly knew me. I sighed and kept walking.

"You sigh a lot you know that?" said someone making me jump. Pulling my knife out I held it to their neck as I shoved them against the wall.

I looked to their face to find a familiar smile at my eye level. They giggled at my as I backed up and put my knife away.

"I'm sorry" I say looking down, "habit."

"Rain, I am your oldest and closet friend, I'm use to it. To be honest I do it on purpose every now and again just to keep you on your toes" says my, as he put it, oldest friend, Ray. I roll my eyes and keep walking.

"You know, one of this times I'm really going to hurt you and I'm going to laugh because you'll deserve it" I jokingly inform him. "Oh, and Ray, you're like my only friend."

"No that can't be true, what about Michael, and Lou and chief, oh and we can't forget Kate" he bats his eyes at me.

"For one, Lou is my cousin. Two Michael is on my squad. Three, that's my boss. And last but not least, that bitch hates me with a passion."

"Oh, my pore little Rain, you are so loved by everyone and you can't see it." He puts his are around my shoulders being that I am 5'10" that's hard for most but lucky him he is fucking 6'4"

I hear giggling behind us and I put my arm around his waist. "Code FTC" I whisper. he nods and as three young woman approach the corner about to turn I start giggling like a love bird. They turn the corner out way and Ray pushes me against the wall and slams his mouth on mine. One girl gasps, one starts crying and the other whispers "I told you so." The crying one runs of as Ray kisses down my neck nibbling and grabs my leg to wrap around his. We break away when the one who said I told you so clears her throat. Ray let's me off the wall and try's to look awkward as I fix my shirt and pants.

"Agent Rain and Ray, you are both needed in the missions room in five minutes. Go. Now." She says looking annoyed. This red head with the attitude is Anna-Lee, the gossip of HQ. Her real job on base is the head of Intel. She is very good at her job and just finding things out in general. It helps that she is 18 years old, but she can keep a secret. Anna-lee is only 5'6" but is as firry as her hair if you piss her off.

"Sorry Anna-Lee. hey do you know what was wrong with Larua?" Ray asks know very well what was wrong with Larua, the girl who ran off crying.

You see, Ray is gay. He doesn't want any one to know but his few close friends. He also has many admirers around base that he wants to keep off his dick so we came up with code FTC, or code fool the crowd. So everyone thinks we have a thing when we don't. I help him because he is my best friend and his secret boy-friend is my cousin and other best friend Lou.

"Oh you know, the usual. She didn't believe you two had a thing and was looking for you to ask you out on a date. I mean honestly, I work in Intel, you think people would believe what I tell them around here." Anna-lee explained.

I laughed at the irony and she gave me a look.

"I agree, you go ahead and tell everyone of our relationship please. I'm tired of women hitting on my man" I say as I pull him into a kiss.

"Hey hey hey okay enough PDA guys"

I faked a giggle and nodded.

"Okay well we better be off, thanks Anna-lee" Ray said as he turned me around to hurry off to the missions room. "See ya later"

See what I said, I never get a second of peace.

As Anna-lee turned and walked away I put some space between me and Ray. It's nothing personal I just like my space.

Ray looked at me and smirked. I just raised my eyebrow and gave him a "what you smirking at" look.

"Hahahahaha. you have a hickey. man Lou is going to kill you." He laughed at me. I widened my eyes and pulled a mirror out of my backpack and checked my self.

I slapped him in the arm when I saw the forming hickey. Lou is going to kill me, he hates it when we go to far. It's not like it means anything. Ray isn't attracted to me and I'm not attracted to anyone so no problem.

"Thank you for this lovely mark. I just love being yelled at so much" I snared back.

"Anytime love" Ray said in his gayest voice. Okay I'll give him that, that made me smile.

"There's that smile" Ray poked at my cheeks using his normal voice.

"Come on, let's go before we are late" I say as I stuff the mirror back in my back pack and start walking to mission room.

Now i know what you're thinking, well if this is some big high tech HQ for spies and stuff wouldn't they know your secret throw the cameras and stuff. Well you see, because I am one of the top agents I know a thing or two about hacking and I know the guys in surveillance, they know better then to say a word.

"Hey Rain?"

"Yes Ray?"

"Are you gay?"

"What?!?"

"I mean you don't feel anything when I kiss you and you haven't been with a guy for a long time now..." Ray started

"Ray" I sighed "i don't know, I just don't really have had attraction to any one in a long time. My life does not have room for relationships so I chose to stop looking"

"Well... Okay then you probably won't like the fact me and Lou set you up in a blind date" he says with a don't kill me, I love you look on his face and grins.

"What!?"

"Well we were thinking, and you seemed lonely so... yeah... he is a really nice guy and you'll love him I promise" he says grinning.

"Fine I'll think about it, I'm going to have a long talk with you and Lou about this later" I say as we approach missions room.

I look at the two large iron doors and sigh. I'm not going to get a moments peace am i? I think as I open the doors and step in.
