“Hey Mom.” Luke said laughing a little as he walked past Emma. “Quit calling me that.” Emma said smiling. “Oh come on, my dad is dating you now, so that makes you my new mom.” Luke said already knowing how she would answer. “We aren’t dating Luke. We just spend a lot of time together...we talk.” Emma said. “And kiss a lot.” Luke said. Emma rolled her eyes and smiled. “Nothing is serious yet, Luke.” Emma said looking down. “Well I don’t really care, I just want to have a family again. I can see us all being one big happy family.” Luke said cracking up on the last sentence. “Yeah right, whatever.” Emma said laughing. “Why don’t you go off and count the cans of food we have. Don’t waste your time talking to me about things you shouldn’t be.” Emma said. “Yeah right, whatever.” Luke said laughing as he mimicked Emma and walked away.

“Is he asking you again?” I said laughing. “Of course he is, when isn’t he.” Emma said smiling. “Well maybe it’s time we tell him.” I said. “...No, Aaron.” Emma said looking down. “...Why not? We have to eventually.” I said. “...I don’t want him to get attached to me and then lose me. I can’t let him go through losing his mom again.” Emma said. “Emma...he knows he’s going to lose both of us someday. It wasn’t easy for him to handle...but he knows...and while we’re all here, while we all have each other, we should make the best of it.” I said smiling a little. “I guess you're right. I love that boy like he’s my own son, I wanna be there for him and watch him grow up.” Emma said. “I wish I was able to be there for him when he was younger.” I said. “Stop being negative! Look on the bright side, we can do this together. We can both start over and raise him together.” Emma said happily. “Why are you always right about everything.” I said as I kissed her cheek.

“Did you hear we’re gonna leave soon?” Black asked Camila. “Yeah. Apparently everyone knows except Brandon.” Camila said. “We’re always on the road...I just hope that one day we’re all in a safe place...and we’ll stay there...for a long time.” Camila said looking down. “Don’t worry, we will find a safe place. And we’ll all make it there together.” Blake said as he put his arm around her. “I sure hope so.” Camila said smiling as she started to pack. “You guys almost done packing?....” Brandon asked Camila. Camila looked up at Brandon shocked. She had no idea that he knew they were leaving tomorrow. “...Don’t pretend like I don’t know...I know we’re leaving tomorrow...I want to leave tomorrow.” Brandon said. Blake and Camila looked at each other and then at Brandon. Brandon looked at them a little and then walked away. “Is he ok?...” Blake asked Camila quietly.

“Hey dad, I was just wondering...am I ever going to be able to carry around a gun?” Kaitlynn asked. “Why’d you ask that?” Austin said laughing a little. “No...honey you don’t need to carry around a gun. It’s important that you know how to shoot one, but you shouldn’t carry around one.” Lauren said as she noticed what they were talking about. “Well I think eventually she can carry one around, maybe when she gets a little older.” Austin said to Lauren. “But I am old, I’m ten...and I can shoot...so why not be able to protect myself when I need to.” Kaitlynn said. “We’ll think about it sweetie, but it’ll be a decision that your mom and I make.” Austin said as he patted her back. “Thanks dad, I can’t wait.” Kaitlynn said as she ran ahead. “I never said yes.” Austin said quietly as Kaitlynn walked away.
