James's Perspective

I walk up to the deck to meet up with Nathan and Mackenzie.

Nathan, who was driving the boat, looked up at me as I emerged from the lower deck of his boat. Mackenzie was sitting behind him on the white outdoor couch that was on the deck. I walked over to her and sat next to her, placing my right leg on top of my left.

"Anyone know where Dylan is?" Macknzie asked as she looked away from the writing app on her phone.

Nathan and I looked at each other, worry in our eyes. We didn't want to let her know that he was dead on the bed on the lower deck.

I looked over to Mackenzie, right into her light brown eyes. They were filled with eagerness. I could sense she really wanted to know where he went.

"Well... he's umm....-" I started before I was interupted.

"He's taking a nap on the lower deck. Wants to have enough energy where we get there," Nathan answered while still looking out into the ocean.

Mackenzie didn't look right after Nathan said that. It's as if she could sense that Nathan-

"You're lying to me," Mackenzie blurted out, interupting my thoughts.

Nathan and I both got stiff. How in the hell did she know? But then I noticed why.

Laying around her neck is the necklace that Mackenzie and Michelle both share. The yin and yang symbol. Mackenzie had the yang symbol and Michelle had the yin. I am able to recall how the scenario of the necklace being given happened.

~*~

I was sitting outside on one of the lawnchairs on the side of the pool. Michelle was standing in front of the metal gril grilling burgers and hotdogs for dinner later on tonight. Chris and Dylan were floating in the pool, the scales from the their tals reflecting in the sunlight. Jorge was swiming out to Mako for a quick visit to the Moon Pool. Nathan was somewhere inside, proably getting food because he is always hungry. Mackenzie was in the kitchen emptying the dishwasher and getting plates and buns out for the hamburgers and hot dogs later.

Michelle turned to me and asked,"do you have the necklace?"

I look up from the paperback book I was reading up into her dark brown eyes. "What?"

"Do you have the necklace for, Mackenzie?" she asked once more while taking a glance back at the food on the grill.

I reached out my left hand to the table beside me to grab the box that contained the necklace that Michelle was talking about. I picked it up in my hand and shook it around, making a rattling noise. "Of course I do."

Michelle took the box from my hand and put it in the front pocket of the black Supernatural apron she was wearing.

"Thanks for getting it for me," she said to me while leaning in to give me a kiss on my right cheek. I grabbed her left hand and held it for a bit.

I looked up at her again,"no problem babe." She leaned down and we connected lips until Mackenzie walked outside with the buns.

"You two! Stop kissing and make dinner! I'm starving!" Mackenzie shouted.

We pulled away from each other and smiled.

"I guess I'll go back to cooking dinner," Michelle said while turning back towards the grill with a smile on her face.

I got up from the white lawn chair I was sitting on and went over to the outdoor table to help Mackenzie set up. Chris and Dylan were still in the pool.
