Chapter 9~ District 11's floor

After entering the building, Seeder steers me into a lift across the room from the entrance. She presses the button labelled with '11' and we start flying up towards the sky. This is the first time I've ever been in a lift, so I look down curiously through the glass floor. Seeder smiles at me and asks: "First time in a lift?"
"Yeah." I reply returning her smile.
"It was mine too when I first came here." The lift comes to a stop and we exit into what I assume is District 11's floor.

"This is District 11's floor, our home until you go into the games." Seeder explains as she gives me a tour. It is huge! It's even more luxurious than the train was! I've never been inside a place that is worth so much money! Sunshine is finishing up giving William a tour of the place as Seeder and I finish up the tour with the dining room. Chaff has disappeared somewhere, I'm guessing he's drunk.

Seeder sits down at the table, and the same as has been happening with every meal since I was reaped as tribute, I am served course after course as soon as I sit down beside her. "Gemma seems nice, but I would be a bit cautious of her at first since she is from District 2." Seeder starts as William and Sunshine sit down."If she seems alright and she asks if you want to be allies, just say that you need to check with me first, and I will talk to her mentor."
"Okay, thanks." I reply.

Once everyone has finished eating, Seeder announces that William and I should get some sleep, and that she will go talk to Chaff about his drinking. I say goodnight to everyone and walk quietly to my designated room.

I know where it is from the tour Seeder took me on, but she didn't show me inside. Yet again I am gobsmacked at how expensive everything in this room would have been. The bed is huge, it must be queen sized. There are a million different buttons that do different things for you when pressed. Also there is something that you speak what kind of food you would like and it pops out of a trapdoor in the wall.

I walk into my own personal bathroom. The shower is even fancier than the one on the train! It too is controlled by buttons instead of taps. By the looks of it each button dispenses a different kind of soap, fancy hair cleaning stuff (I think it's called Shampoo), or controls the water temperature. I open the vanity where the sink is, and I find a lot of different flavoured toothpaste, toothbrushes in different colours, a stack of hair ties and a hairbrush.

I think that all this luxury is ridiculous when people back home are starving, but I may as well take advantage of it, I could be dead by next week after all. I order a hot chocolate in the speaker, and sip it as I play around with a remote that changes what you see out of the window. It changes into a orchard at sunset reminding me of home, so I yank the curtains closed. The memory is too painful, and I don't want to cry.

I drain the dregs of my hot chocolate from my mug, and slip into the pair of cotton pajamas I find in my draw. As I drift off to sleep on the humongous bed, I think of my family back home.
