Chapter Two: We've got a long day ahead of us...We landed with a thud, making me bolt up in surprise since I was still asleep.
"What the hell?!" I exclaimed and Andrew laughed at me.
"We just landed," My brother said once he was done laughing at me.
"Yeah I can see that."
"Alright troops grab your things and head to the base. We've got a long day ahead of us," The general said and we all unbuckled our seat belts and grabbed our things. Andrew and I both brought two huge bags so I made him carry the heaviest ones. We carried our bags all the way to the base we were staying at - unless it gets bombed - and dropped our bags once we got to where everyone else was.
"Alright guys we have got a few days to prepare for war so train up because when those days end say goodbye to life as you know it."
"He doesn't really mean that he's just trying to scare the newbies," Reese whispered. Well at least I now know that these six months won't be hard. I'll be back home and safe before I know it. The general finished speaking and we grabbed our bags and headed for the tents and bunkers that we will be staying at. My brother and I got to ours and I dropped the bags and fell onto the bed.
"First day here and I'm already tired," I mumbled into the pillow.
"Same. I think the heat and jet lag has got to us," Andrew said falling back on his bed.
"Aye more roomies!" Some guy said and I lifted my head to see a guy who looks like he is twenty two and doesn't know how to shave. Behind him was a girl with red hair and green eyes who looks like she couldn't stand this guy.
Great. Roommates. That's exactly what I need right now.
"Umm..... hi?" Andrew said looking at them awkwardly.
"Hi I'm Paige and this nitwit here is Aiden," The girl said stepping in front and shaking Andrews hand.
"So.."
"Are you two?"
"Siblings?" Andrew and I asked.
"No he's my older cousin. Do you two always talk like that?" Paige asked, putting her bags by a bed. Wait older?
"No I usually speak for myself while my brother over there makes me speak for him," Andrew said as Aiden did weird things and made me wonder if someone dropped him as a baby.
"Not true! If I didn't speak for myself I wouldn't be the one married right now why you still question your life choices," I said and Aiden laughed.
"Ha! Good one. I question certain things everyday.......... Like why I have an extra toe," Aiden said staring off at the ceiling.
"Oh....... kay?" Now I'm starting to question my life choices. Or should I be questioning Aidens parents' life choices?
"Well since we are all sharing the same room we should get to know each other," Paige said breaking the awkward silence that was there.
"Okay well I'm Andrew I'm twenty two years old and I finished college at age twenty," My brother more or so bragged.
"I'm Zack I'm twenty six I have one boy named Bryson and a baby girl on the way," I said.
"Wait why are you here if you have a baby on the way?" Paige asked.
"They needed people and I needed the money," I said with a shrug.
