Yukio's POV
"Rin!" I screamed at the top of my lungs but it was no use me trying to kill the demon. Kuro, protecting his master grew incredibly and attacked the demon, clawing it and biting it before it evaporated into thin air. I ran over to Rin "Rin! Rin! Please! Wake up!" I yelled, shaking him. I checked his pulse. It was slow but it was still there. I heard footsteps behind me "Yukio we need to get him to the hospital now." A man said. I nodded.
"He's temporarily paralysed." Another exorcist said once we got there. I looked upon Rin, he looked so peaceful apart from the graze on his face from hitting the floor. "How long will he be out for?" I asked. The exorcist looked unsure.
"The demon used the most powerful curse to paralyse him. At the least it'll be a day before he wakes up." Those words made me panic. "Isn't there anything you can do?!" I shouted.
"No I'm afraid."
"Yukio calm down please. Rin won't be happy knowing you're like this." Kuro said. I grabbed the sword and left in an instant. I went outside and sat down on a bench. I texted Shiemi and asked her to get to the hospital asap.A few minutes after I texted her I saw her running in the distance, wearing her kimono. "Yuki. What's happened? Where's Rin?" She asked sounding concerned.
"Rin got attacked by a demon. It put a curse on him. He's paralysed for at least 24 hours." I said avoiding eye contact.
"Oh no." Shiemi said, close to crying. "Can we go see him?" She asked.
"We can try." I said, standing up. We walked towards his room. I opened the doors. Everyone was gone now.
"Rin!" Shiemi said and ran over to him. I stayed silent. "What if he wakes up after 24 hours?" She asked
"I don't want to think about it." I replied simply.
"Oh right sorry." Shiemi said. Why couldn't I shoot it? Why did it take me so long to notice? How did it dodge all my shots? Why couldn't I protect Rin? I asked myself all these questions. "Yuki is it okay if I tell the others?" Shiemi asked. I nodded. Not too long later 4 people burst through the door, the others that I taught before the classes started filling up. "What happened?" Bon asked.
"A curse." I said
"What kind of curse?" Konekomaru asked
"He's been paralysed for at least 24 hours. The curse was set by a demon. A powerful one who dodged all of my bullets." I said. Everyone looked shocked. I couldn't take this anymore so I walked out. I was on my way to Mephisto's office to see if he knew about this or if he could identify this demon because it was one that I'd never seen. "Mr Okumura!" A voice called. It was Shima. "Do you know what kind of demon attacked Rin?" He asked. I turned around to face him. "I don't even know. It was one I have never seen before."
"What did it look like?" Shima asked
"It was a blood red colour. It had a head, small torso, short arms then it went into a tail. It's eyes were close to the top of its head and they were just two black dots. On its torso and tail were burgundy swirls and it was about a foot tall."
"Never seen one like that before." Shima said. "Do you think it could of been summoned by Satan as revenge for closing up the Gehenna gate."
"I....I don't know." I replied, looking down at the floor. I kept on walking. I needed to tell Mephisto to see if he know about this.I got to the door of Mephisto's office. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. "Come in." A voice sang from inside the room. I opened the door.
"Director." I started "My brother got attacked earlier. By a demon that I have never seen. It put a curse on him. Do you know anything about this?"
"Why no. I'll look into it with the higher ups."
"Director. One of my classmates suggested that it could've come from Gehenna and is seeking revenge because me and my brother closed the gate." I said. Mephisto thought for a bit.
"It's possible." He said.
