The rain was pouring outside onto the city and the power was out. His phone was laying silently by his side as he laid on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. That's how Natsu had been for the past few days. Starring at nothing and feeling nothing but a heaviness on his chest.

Bleeding Love was playing through a broken heart playlist on Spotify. He replayed his conversation with Lisanna,  a childhood friend, from earlier that day. She was trying to cheer him up by bringing him to a barbecue place down the street from his apartment. But after getting annoyed with him about being depressed, she accidentally told him that Lucy had moved on and was dating a bartender from the opposite side of town.

It had been hours since that conversation but he still felt the same has he had that afternoon. He turned over to his side and remembered a conversation between him a Gray.

"Embrace being single!" He had said. Natsu shook his head and finished off a plate of buffalo chicken tenders. "It'll make things easier."

"I know."

"Then why are you still depressed?"

"Oi, don't just ask someone that."

"Whatever, flame breath," Gray took one of his fries and tried to get a waitress's attention.

Natsu figured it wouldn't hurt to try to act like a single man. He was one after all. He turned off his phone and slid it into his pocket. He walked out of his room and towards the entrance to his apartment. He stepped over dirty clothes and beer cans as he reached for his old denim jacket. As he tied a pair of Nike tennis shoes on and slid an old beanie onto his head. He left his apartment and headed down the stairs.

The first place he stopped at was an old Denny's. He was seated at a both that was at the end of a row going down the middle of the restaurant. A waitress took his order and questioned him when he requested the entire meat section of the menu. When he snapped at her she headed towards the counter. Natsu fiddled with a napkin as a couple a few seats ahead began whisper. He looked up at the couple. The man was was dressed in faded denim and half his head was shaved down, the other half was covered in curled, neon green locks. He was seated next to a woman who was dressed in black, her hair matched her leather coat. Her skin however, was pale. The man whispered words into her ear.

Her features didn't quite register in Natsu's mind. He saw her as a blonde, dressed in a pink tank top with chocolate brown eyes and the smile of an angel. The woman starred at him for a moment. He realized that it wasn't Lucy and turned back to the napkin. The waitress came minutes later, with a tray full of various food items, all of which contained meat. He thanked her and ate. He couldn't eat as fast as he could before. He ended up eating less than of what he ordered. He payed his bill and left a tip before leaving the restaurant.

As he stood from the booth he caught the eyes of the girl across from him. Again, he saw her as Lucy. She turned away from him and scrolled through her phone. As he stepped away, he caught a glimpse of a photo of Lucy. The caption read, girl's night! :p, with different hashtags following afterwards. He sighed and left the restaurant.

After he left the restaurant, all he could hear was Lucy's voice. Not her normal voice, her seductive voice. The one she used to get him into bed and the one she used on just about a weekly basis. Or, used to use. He could hear her voice and feel her soft flesh in the palms of his hands. He could close his eyes and see her, laying underneath him.
