Hufflepuff common room one shot

The common room

As always with hufflepuff everyone has there own ideas about what the common room would look like so here is my take.
Any ideas or additions you wish to add please comment them and I will see where I can change or adapt what I have already written in true hufflepuff style.

The common room
From the barrel entrance that we are tolled about there is a short stair case upwards(about 14-21 steps) I imagine that similar to the great hall that this corridor would open to the heavens except that it would always be night. This would mean that every time someone walks into the common room they have to walk through space and appreciate it's beauty. the steps are all oak and rickety and the banisters are all bent and curved.

The common room it's self would be very homely with lots of light during the day and at night would have a cozy orange glow creating a clam and comfy atmosphere.it would be semi circular in shape. along the flat wall would be large arching medieval windows and a long desk with old fashioned with ,an old dusty rug ,green library lamps directly in front of it and a wired and wonderful collection of chairs through time . There would definitely be a grand golden throne and an interrogation chair from the sixties plus there would have definitely be a butt chair that would have originally been a joke but then became really comfy and people politely fort over it.

There would have a door to the kitchens beside the barrel corridor and then the door to the girls dorms and bathrooms.

There would be a mix of soft Cotten brown mustard yellow sofas and leather chesterfield sofas lining the rest walls with dark oak wood bookshelves dotted in between (this would be inclusive to everyone so different cliques would have to sit together)

There would also be a large fireplace on the left with a semi circle of chairs around it and a low coffee table. It would be old and sturdy but covered in stains from a mix of potions and hot beverages.

.the bookshelves would always be filled with new books and would be a mixture of muggle and wizarding fiction and non-fiction. Also if you choose to read a book you would tap it with your wand say your name and why the book took your fancy so the house Elves have more of an idea to what books they should supply the library.

the windows would definitely be a mix of different glass so when the light shone through it would cast different colours all over the room and up the walls(there would always be one person who would joke about being a vampire whenever the got the light in there eyes).there would also be circles of sofas facing the walls and the largest would be the one surrounding the large fire place and harth(where the hufflepuff house bager would most definitely sleep). there would be an megaphone in the centre evlaveted on a stool and the boxes of records would be stored away and would always be flying around the room to students who wanted to change or que up next.

The megaphone would  always Automatically play atmospheric music all the time so after a quiditch match it would play loud upbeat dance music and when people were winding down on a Tuesday or Wednesday after a long day of lessons it would play smooth jazz or old old soul music.

there would definitely be little clusters of lucky Heather on side tables and on the long desk. So the whole common room would always smell like dried flowers and all the students would have infinite good luck.

The house elves from the kitchens are always popping in and out of the common room dropping off bits of food and they alway without fail make tea and coffe in the morning. They would put it in the centre, by the megaphone. Some students that were on particularly good terms with the elves can get it delivered to their common rooms.
