The next few days were full of awkward avoidance and an all too giddy George. He made it his new past time to tease Fred and Hermione, mainly Fred, no matter what the cost is. The rest of the Weasley family was oblivious to the 3hour conversation between Hermione and Fred that fueled sparks neither one knew were there, to begin with. Small nods and weak smiles had been enough for the past few days but nothing past that. That was until George decided it was his duty to be a matchmaker.
...
"Hey ol' Freddy!""What do you want George?"
"Your own brother can't just want to talk to ya for some bonding time?"
"No he can't, stop screwing around George, I don't have the time.""You seem to have the time to me."
Fred was lying on his bed on his back, levitating a piece of parchment.
"Fine, what do you need?""Ah, dear brother, it's more of what you need!"
"And that would be?" Fred replied with a lack of interest.
"Granger," George said bluntly with a smirk arising from his face.
Fred's flying paper fell immediately and he snapped up.
"Bloody 'ell George!"
George with a look of extreme giddiness and satisfaction continued on.
"I know you like her, she probably knows too. Everyone knows except you.""I'd know if I liked someone, George. I can interpret my own feelings to that extent." Fred mumbled defensively.
"Don't think too much of yourself now Freddy. But I brought this up because you really seem to like her-"
"I've spent a whopping 3 hours with her George, that's barely enough time to figure out if you like a type of sweet, much less a person," interrupted Fred.
"Okay, okay I see. You don't want me to interfere. I get it. I'll just disappear. Never to be seen by you again. Good bye brother." George dramatically drifted out of the doorway with the trademark Weasley twin smirk that's known to bring nothing but mischief and trouble. But Fred obviously didn't catch the smirk because he immediately went back to mindlessly levitate his paper bird once again as his twin trekked to the floor above.
...
"Hiya Hermione!"Hermione jumped nearly 10 feet in the air when the lanky redhead spoke from outside her doorway.
"Bloody hell, George!" Hermione exclaimed.
"Wow people are saying that a lot to me today"
"What?"
"Uh, nothing. I came here to ask you a question."
"I'm don't have time to test another prank toy that could cause injury to myself or the house right now," Hermione said getting up to close the door on George.
"No not about that. But we could use you later, but that's beside the point. I was wondering if you'd like to join me and my other half on an outing to Hogsmeade?"
"For what? There's barely any places to shop for class supplies there. Do you mean Diagon Ally? Because there we could buy school books and robes and other things we'll need for the coming year. Well, I'll need, I don't know about you two," she rambled on.
