In the middle of the night Lucas rolls over to find Riley fast asleep in the space next to him. His eyes try to adjust to the darkness. He was in Riley's room, under her blankets, half dressed. He lets out a sigh of relief knowing last night wasn't a dream. After they had sex, they ended up talking for hours. Lucas told Riley how he felt during their breakup and how much she meant to him. He even confessed that Zay knew all along and was just playing dumb. He felt like he could lay there with her and talk forever. He had never felt this intimate with another person before. There was this indescribable bond between them, one he couldn't explain.

He wraps his arm around her waist, gently kissing her shoulder. Whispering in her ear, "Baby...wake up."

She lets out a sleepy groan. "Riley, I don't think I should spend the night." He whispers again.
No response.

He tries to get up but feels her warm arms pull him back down and into her embrace. "Please stay."

"Okay but I'm going to leave first thing in the morning. I don't want to get you in trouble with your parents." He kisses her on the cheek, getting back underneath the covers.

She cuddles up under his arm, nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck. "Fair enough," She sighs.

Lucas traces his fingers along the small of her back and soon he starts to nod off.

A loud banging on her bedroom door sends both Riley and Lucas flying out of bed.

"Riley! Wake up! You're going to be late!" Josh yelled from outside in the hallway.

The two love birds fumble out of bed. Lucas starts to frantically look for his clothes but they're everywhere. His shirt is on the bay window, his jeans are by her bedroom door. When he finally manages to throw on all of his garments he kisses Riley one last time before climbing out the window and running down the fire escape.

"I'll just take the subway, Josh!" Riley yells back, trying to find something to wear. "My alarm didn't go off."

That was a lie. Her alarm did go off. Several times. But laying there next to Lucas felt way too good to get up.

"Alright, I'm going to go get Maya then..." His voice trails, "Are you sure you don't want me to wait?"

"I'm sure!"

"I'll see you at school then."

She waits for the front door to close before she darts out her room and into the bathroom.

At school Riley felt like she was walking on air. Her night with Lucas was everything she wanted it to be and more. She felt invincible. Nothing was going to bring her down. Nothing was going to ruin her day.

Nothing except for that, She thought.

Charlie was waiting right by her locker for her with a big grin on his face.

She reluctantly walks over and can hardly bring herself to look him in the eye. "Morning."

"Good morning." He hands her a small flower. "I don't know if you still like daisies, but – "

Riley stares down at the flower and back up at him. Down the hall she can see Lucas and Zay watching closely. Zay seemed humored. Lucas on the other hand, seemed agitated.

She couldn't take it anymore. She didn't want to keep any more secrets. They tried that already and it ended horribly. She was done hiding.

"Charlie," She cuts him off mid sentence. "I need to talk to you."
