"I'm sorry to tell you Mr. Sanders but your daughter confessed to the murders. She has her hearing tomorrow if you want to go." Tom explained to Jack as he stood in his doorway. "Thank you for telling me." He said as Tom gave him a small smile and nod before getting in his car and leaving.
Not knowing what to do Jack sat down on his couch and looked though a small picture book, he managed to keep his tears back until he landed on a picture of both his daughters when they were little. Both of them had bright smiles and a sparkle in their eyes.
Without thinking tears started to run down his face and he quickly closed the picture book and threw it across the room as he broke down into a fit of crying.
The following day Jack hesitantly went down to the station to see his daughter before her hearing. "Hello Mr. Sanders I'm Nathan the chief of this station. Are you hear to see Jessica?" The chief asked walking out of his office. "I am. Where is she?" Jack asked looking around the station. "She's in a cell in the basement, right this way." The chief lead him towards the basement.
As they rounded the corner Jessica's cell came into view and the world seemed to slow at the sight her saw before him. His last living daughter was no longer a problem to this world, no longer a murderer on the streets, for before him his daughter hung, with rope made of sheets upon a hook that scared the ceiling.
For the brightest of people have their demons, and even if they see the light it doesn't always mean they will follow it, for this is known as the darkest decent.
