Lost and Found

A/N: Hello everyone, Ruby Cipher here. Now before I start, I just want to say that this my first time writing Soul Eater fanfiction, so I ask you all to bear with me on this, ok? Ok.

Running. All she had been doing is running. Running from that hellhole, from that mad man. It had only been a few minutes since she escaped, but it felt like hours. And the voices' relentless teasing didn't make it better.

You're gonna get caught, the voices taunted, cackling with glee. You're gonna get caught, and then you're gonna die! 

Keep running, keep running, she told herself, as an attempt to drown out the voices in her head, but as always, it didn't work.

It didn't matter, though. Keep running is what mattered now. Ignore the voices, ignore the pain, ignore the blood dripping at every footfall. Hell, ignore the light shining in the peripheral of her eye-

Light. Bright light. It illuminated the darkness and made her eyes burn. It also struck fear into her heart. 

Oh, no, I've been caught! 

She paused as the light came closer. Run, run! 

It came closer. She didn't move an inch. Why aren't you running?!

The light continued to come closer until it was almost blinding her. This was it, she was done for. They found her and she was dead.

"Hey, little girl."

Her head snapped up as she looked at the man standing before her. He had gray hair and glasses, and he was wearing stitched lab coat. Nothing like what he wore. Upon further inspection, she noticed that he had a screw through his head.

Definitely not him.

"Are you ok?" the man asked. "You look lost."

She opened her mouth, but the words wouldn't come out. The man raised an eyebrow at her, obviously waiting for a answer that she couldn't give.

"Hey, Stein, have you found anything yet?" 

The two looked up to see a blonde woman with an eye-patch running toward them. Upon seeing her, though, she stopped.

"Stein, who is this?" she asked warily.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out," Stein answered. The blonde woman crouched down in front of her, and she leaned back warily. As if sensing her uncomfortableness, the woman also backed up a bit.

"Hey, it's ok," the woman said in a soothing tone. "I won't hurt you."

"...that's what he said..." she whispered softly. It wasn't soft enough, though. Instantly,  she was met with concerned pale green and light brown gazes. She shrank back a little, and almost toppled over backwards when the woman extended her hand towards her.

"I'm Marie, and this is Stein," Marie told her. "Do you have a name?"

She nodded. "Luna E'Clipse."

Marie smiled, and Stein's lips quirked up a little. "Well, miss Luna, we're going to take you somewhere safe, ok?" she asked.

Again, Luna nodded, this time grasping Marie's hand.

"Ok."
