The Dream Guardian

Chapter 2

I walked home and set my book bag on the floor, I was so tired even though I slept in Literature. I still want to huddle up in my bed. I decided that sounded pretty convincing and ran upstairs to take a shower. My showers take about a half an hour to a hour which yes I understand isn't really helping the planet but it's nice and warm so whatever.

I was ready for bed and didn't need dinner because truthfully I was so tired I was going to probably pass out anyway. I flopped down into bed and wrapped myself up. I was nice and peaceful all comfy in my bed which made no trouble in falling asleep.

I slept for awhile until a I heard creaks from downstairs. I thought I was probably just imagining them so I laid my head back down on my pillow till I heard it yet again. I heard the door and immediately sat up. Now I was freaked someone was most defiantly in my house. Whoever it was wasn't very good at being quiet. I heard a loud bang from the back and instantly I jumped from my bead to the floor. I peered out my window only a bit and saw him...

I know it's him and this time I am going to get him. I know he's real and now he's just annoying me. I stomped down the stairs and grabbed my bearpaw boots shoving them on in the process of walking outside. I walked up behind him slowly, he turned around but I quickly hid behind the closest tree. I followed him as fast and stealthily as I could. I was not about to let him out of my sight. I kept behind him not losing him as I saw him run to the woods again. I ran after him again and still followed behind him where I got lost from him today at the clearing.

This path looked so familiar but I don't know what I was thinking of. I kept chasing him till we reached another clearing and he stopped at a huge almost hole or gap in the middle of thin air. My jaw dropped as soon as he went in what ever this was and I looked at it for a moment and then decided to not think about it and just follow him running in.

It opened up to this different place, the sky was a pinkish orange color and it was almost like a small village. People filled the streets with little baskets and carts, almost like an old town village. I followed him through as he turned around a couple times to see if someone was following him leaving me to hide every few seconds. We got close to a building and he swiftly turned the corner, I walked behind him and turned it but he was gone. I looked each way and stood there for a moment, confused on where he went so quickly. I already had no clue where I was and now I lost him. I turned around into someone's chest, they clasped onto my wrists and I looked up scared. Little did I know it would be the one person I had been looking for.

"Why did you follow me here." he said sternly looking down at me with daggers in his eyes. Although the look he was sending me scared me, I felt like I couldn't be harmed around him. I knew who he was and he couldn't hurt me, at least I hoped.

I stuttered out trying to speak "I- I just." I stopped from the grip he had on my wrists "Stop please, that hurts." I said as his face softened a little as well as his grip.

"Sorry." he said sincerely "You can't be here though, it's not safe." I don't even know where I am and anyway this place looks anything but dangerous.

"Where are we anyway?" I asked.

He looked around and then back to me "Just come with me." he said pulling me along side him.

"Of course I am, but I don't really have a choice." I said referring to him holding onto my hand. He disregarded what I said and kept walking. He kept his head down and I couldn't help but wonder what he's hiding or who he's hiding from. The pink of the sky started to dim as he led me into a long almost one floor apartment, only difference is that here the walls were stone and the floor was covered everywhere by rugs "Now just wait here for two seconds please." he positioned me at the door and then walked up to at the desk turning around to make sure I didn't move as I rolled my eyes at him. He talked to the man quickly and then walked back to me.

"Okay now come on." he said once again pulling my wrist. He led me to a door in the back of the places' hallway and unlocked the door.

We walked into a room with one bed and a dresser okay kind of dresser. Let's just say it wasn't exactly a four star hotel let alone three star hotel... or a two star. I didn't care anyway I just wanted answers "Alright now I want answers." I told him crossing my arms to my chest.

"Why did you follow me." he said sternly totally forgetting my question.

"Because you wouldn't leave me alone, and I knew you were real." I said stepping closer to him trying to scare him, but let's face it i'm not the most intimidating person "Now you're going to answer my questions." I said.

"You wanted me to leave you alone?" he asked looking down at the floor.

"What- no- are you going to answer my question or not?" I said crossing my arms.

"Fine you get three questions." he said sitting down on the bed and pulling off his boots.

"Okay." I thought for a moment it wasn't really fair I was only getting three questions but I knew I wouldn't get anymore just yet so I have to just go with it "Where are we?" I asked first.

"Emberglow." he said. Emberglow what the heck, now he is just giving me crap.

"Emberglow. Really come on you said you would give me three." I said glaring at him.

"Your not home, this isn't- we just-." he said stuttering to find the right words "We aren't like you guys, and I'm not lying to you we're in the city of Emberglow. We have to figure all of this out and quick because I have to get home." he said running his hand through his dark brown hair.

"Okay I believe you, now what do you mean your not like everyone else?" I was confused so what now is he going to tell me that vampires are real or something.

"I can't tell you that, but just this isn't the real world, or your world I guess." he said as I stood there confused. No sorry I forgot this is crazy town. Seriously though everything he was telling me was making it had to believe him "This isn't the human world and that's all I can tell you." He said throwing his hands up.

"Fine." I said yawning.

"Come on let's sleep we can start moving early in the morning." He said.

"Okay where's the second bed?" I asked kindly.

"Uhm, yeah so there's-." I stopped him from finishing his sentence and stepped back quickly.

"Yeah, No! I can't sleep in the same bed as you. I don't even know you let alone your name." I stated shaking my head.

"Andrew." he said quietly.

"What?" I asked confused.

"My name's Andrew well Drew." he said shrugging.

"Oh, I'm Ev-." I held out my hand and was about say my name when he cut me off.

"I know who you are Evie, now you have to lay down we have a long walk tomorrow." he said.

I looked at him and then bit my lip "Fine but stay on your side." I said walking over to the bed.

He chuckled and stood up "Uhm, do you mind." he asked holding onto his shirt.

I shook my head and gulped down a little more nervous than usually "It's fine." I said rolling over to face the wall as I waited for him to lay down. I peeked over casually and saw him in all his glory standing there looking amazingly hot. I mean he had a six pack, and not an almost six pack I mean a perfect pack! I looked away quickly before I started drooling or something embarrassing as Drew chuckled at me "What?" I asked him with my face in the pillow.

"Nothing." he said but I could feel his smirk. I shook my head and laid down, until my eyes started to get heavy and I drifted off.
