In the mirror stands a beautiful woman. For a moment I wonder who that person is, but then I realise that it's me. I've never looked this beautiful. People have always told me that I am beautiful, but this is like another dimension. Cinnamon has managed to highlight my face perfectly. He has put me in a yellow long dress with sleeves. He has pained my nails green, and there's a hint of green in the eyeshadow. Not too little and not too much. My hair still hangs over my shoulders, but he has braided it so it looks like a waterfall.
"You look stunning." Cinnamon tells me.
"Thank you." I answer, and I actually give him a hug.
"We have a little more time before the tribute parade." Cinnamon hold something up from his pocket, and holds it up for me. In a gold chain hangs a little flower. A rose just like me. He fastens it around my neck, and takes a few steps back.
"I think this is it. Now you're perfect."
We walk down to the stables. We are going to meet Carly and Jeramy there. My stomach longs for him. I've never been away from him for more than a few hours, and it hurts. The tributes from the other districts stands around the horses ready for the parade to begin. A lot of them look nervous. I spot a little girl dressed in a dress with a cow print on it, and a boy dressed with golden amour. He's muscular, and has a face that looks like he's going to punch someone in any minute.
"There you are!" Cinnamon shrieks and spots Carly and Jer with the carriage from district 7. It is covered in branches, and flowers. I wonder if my parents made them. I quickly sprint up to Jeramy and throw my arms around him. He presses his lips to my forehead. It feels good, but I'm still a little uncomfortable because I haven't sorted out my feelings about him yet.
"I missed you." He tells me.
"I missed you to." I press my face deeper into his chest. He smells like perfume, and it's probably from his new Capitol clothes and the makeup they put on him. He doesn't look like himself, but neither do I.
"10 minutes to start, mount your carriages now." A voice from nowhere says. I don't want to show myself to the Capitol. I don't want to show myself to these fake people. To me they are all a bunch of freaks. Cinnamon comes up to me and Jeramy and I finally let go of him.
"it's time!" He almost yells and push us to mount the carriage.
"You both look lovely!" Carly says and kisses us both on the cheek.
"Smile and wave at the crowd! They are going to love you, and there's a lot of sponsors out there." Cinnamon says.
The doors at the end of the room opens, and I hear the roar of the Capitol. I feel butterfly's in my stomach and quickly take Jeramy's hand. Then our carriage starts moving along with the horses and we set out for the Capitol.
