War

What an ugly thing that is. Friends turning on friends, family becoming untrustworthy, a strong country becoming divided. No matter who was the winner, the end result was far from glorious. The land of Erifield was a land of harmony. Although the relationship of the two kingdoms, Silverwind and Celeste, was tentative, the two kingdoms were able to trade and work peacefully alongside each other for many years. The kingdom of Silverwind was ruled by a fair and just leader who wanted nothing more than for his own kingdom to flourish. The ruler of Celeste however, wanted both kingdoms to join together under one banner.

However the winds of war would blow, what brought the wind upon the peaceful land was never determined. Rumors of poison in the king's drink caused by the kingdom of Celeste helped fuel the flames. Others believed that the kingdom of Silverwind was framed from the beginning. However, the reason behind it was not nearly as important as the lives lost because of it. Thousands have lost their lives and thousands more had to live on with the painful memories of the dead. After the five years of bloodshed, both kingdoms reached a peace treaty. This treaty had ensured the two kingdoms would, once again, become acquainted with each other.

With the death of Silverwind's King, his son had to take the throne. Although he could never be the ruler his father once was, he strived to be everything his father stood for. And because of that, his kingdom had many healing years to recover from the tragic war. Everything was at peace, the children were able to play freely without fear of an attack, the elderly were able to recount their time during the war and the young men and women were able to learn and grow.

The king of Silverwind and the queen presented their kingdom with a son, a son who was to be the heir of the throne when he became of age. Although it was hard to raise the child alone, due to the fact that the mother had died during childbirth, the king did whatever he could to raise the child right. Just as his own father had done to him so long ago.

The son grew up to be a wonderful Prince. He was to be crowned King on his 30th birthday, however death has taken his father too soon. He was a child no longer, the prince had become a king at last. Although it should have been a joyous event, the death of his father weighed heavily on his heart.

King Taiki Kudo of Silverwind

It seemed strange to him, foreign even. It had taken him some time to get used to the name, to the title, to the responsibilities and everything that came with being a king. But he was more than ready to take the throne. He could only hope he could be as good as his father.
