I met up with with Courtney in the morning before class. We grabbed our Starbucks coffee like usual and drove to school together. Courtney couldn't believe that my mom let me off so easy and forgot about everything. The tardy bell rung.

"Oops, looks like we're late,"Courtney had a smirk on her face.

"Well don't forget we need to go get our prom dresses before Bells closes, ASAP!" I yelled as she walked down the hall, acting like no one is watching. Courtney was always the prettier one and I was just that girl who was there to support and keep her secrets, but we were best friends. She had flawless blonde strait hair and always smelt of Twilight Woods and Vanilla. All the guys loved her, but she never gave them the time of day.

I ran to class hoping it wasn't too far into the period. I walked and Mr. Black gave me a disappointment stair and all I could think was 'why me, why does everyone have to hate me and be disappointment I mean give a girl a break'. Setting in my quadrent alone, a tall blue eyed black haired boy walks in. His skin a perfect shade of white and I notice a tattoo peaking out of his collar of his v-neck shirt.

"Everyone this is our new student Damion Carter." Mr. Black announced. "He moved here from U.K and I want y'all to all make him feel welcomed. If you don't mind young man setting there where Mrs. Long is setting, at the empty table. Raise your hand Mrs. Long.

A heat of red and embarressment ran through me and I threw my hand up quick and threw it back down. Why didn't I see this coming, all I could hope for was that he wouldn't ask any question or just even talk to me to save me from embarressment. Inside I felt there was something wrong with this kid he seemed all sad and alone. He had dark bags under his eyes and hardly moved a muscle the whole time he was setting.

The bell rung interupting my thinking and me staring at him. I went through all my class same old as always. When me and Courtney met up in the parking by her car, Courtney whispered to me to turn around.

Looking behind me she siad, " who is that kid and how do I get his number?" she said with enthusiasm.

"His name is Damion Carter, he moved from the U.K and he doesn't talk much or talk at all, atleast to anyone that I have seen."

"Well maybe he is about to?!" she said still looking behind me.

"What makes you think that," right as I turn around he is walking straight toward where me and Courtney is standing.

Courtney whispered, "because he is walking straight to us, nows my chance!"

He walks up and Courtney pushes me aside, he looks straight at me with curiosity in his eyes.

"Hi, I'm Courtney, and your..."

"Damion Carter, are you okay?" He asked me looking me in the eyes. I could hear Courtney get mad and huff. She stills tries to talk to him, but he ignores her. "I'm fine, thanks." I said confused why he didn't go after Courtney and why he decided now to talk.

"Well we gotta go now, nice meeting you. Come on Halie we have to get to the store before it close just like you said remember?!" She said getting jealous trying to take his attention away from me.

"Umm yeah, lets go. Bye Damion." I said in quick rush as Courtney tugged on my Jacket.

Getting into the car I felt bad for Courtney and didn't mean for it to happen that way.

"What a tool!" She bursted out and all I could say to her was 'yeah', but I wish I knew what his problem was and why he looked like he was in pain.
