The wind blows my hair to the back

The wind blows my hair to the back. I still have my one hand on the wheel but I insist on keeping my other hand outside to feel the breeze. The sea looks so satisfying, it seems like it never had any problem and if even if it did, it is so enormous that it can hide any problems away in between the waves. The sky darkens into the night, I have nowhere to go and I am running out of gas.

"Whatever, I'll stop when I stop."

I feel so unfamiliar in my car, the radio is not on my favorite channel, the carpet is dusty, and seriously who hangs Angry Bird on their rear mirror?! The car now has stopped by the side of the road of nowhere I can barely recognize. However, I seem to know this road at the back of my head. The old playground on my left and the abandoned houses near the street kind of bring me back to somewhere I was once in. I have no interest in knowing why and how I got here; I am feeling nostalgic at the moment. I want to rest on the swing I used to play at, have a company to play with on the see-saw and eating ice-cream cone when it gets too sunny and hot.

The swing still makes noises like how I remember it to be, the slides shriek when I put my hands on it.

"Ah, everything's still the same."

I walk past through the playground and heading towards the house at the end of the street. It is dark and eerie, but the cold breeze keeps me company. I arrive at the end of the road, and that is when I see a girl sitting on a bench in the courtyard of the house. The girl with no facial expression, no voice; she looks like she is waiting for someone to pick her up. Feeling sympathize and wonders, I approach the girl.

"It's dark here; maybe you want to wait under the streetlight there."

I point towards the streetlight across the road. The girl looks up to show her face to me and does not budge from her seat. Her face is still expressionless, and she does not utter any words. Then, she stands up and walks towards the house at the end of the street.

"Hey! It's someone's house! You can't just enter like that."

"Hey! Hey!"

The girl walks but she is fast. I run to her and slightly touch her shoulder to stop her.

---

"Help me. Is someone near?"

My car is at the edge of the steep of Tapah-Cameron Highland road. I reached my phone at the back seat of the car but a slight move will cause me death. I sit still on my seat and all I can do is wait. I am crying endlessly, hoping that passing cars will notice my car.

I was driving to Cameron Highland from Tapah after a fight with my parents. It was 11.50 p.m. and raining heavily; I took a slight detour and my car slipped towards the end of the road, causing my car to fall near the edge. After hours of waiting, I fall into the hill.

---

I am still chasing the girl. The girl brought me back to the places which I grew up, the places that I enjoyed being at the most, the memories of the playground my sister and I created; I am thankful and sorry. It is time to go back; into the light.
