[Chapter 1] Remember Me

look ye yonder
my fair, little one
tempt your sultry desires not
nor let your youthful soul be dared
always this term remember:
the master’s stare...BEWARE

look ye yonder
my unsuspecting one
for a torrid fate awaits
the inattentive one

look ye yonder
my darling, hidden one
innocent minds should never find
nor should a naive heart know
what horrid bondage lies
beneath the burning Alpha’s Eyes

---------------------------------------------

I’ve never been the type to back down.

And, now that I think about it, it’s never really been in my nature to settle either.

I get it. For some people, it works. For some people, it’s them. But it just ain’t me. It’s not my style, my instinct. Whatever you want to call it, I didn’t get that gene. It’s not in my blood. It just ain’t me.

I like it that way. I like me that way. Even he likes me that way, which I find surprising since he tries to get me to change. And oh, did he try to get me to change. Don't believe me? Well, what would you call it when someone introduces a foreign substance to your body, effectively altering the future course of your life? Some may call it the kiss of life. He says it's the kiss of consecration. I think it was a weak, cowardly way to go behind my back while I was unable to defend myself.

Maybe if I had been born in a different place. Maybe if I had been born in a different time. Maybe, just maybe, then everything would have turned out different. Maybe I would have turned out different.

Or, maybe, just maybe, things would be worse. Not that any of that matters right now, ‘cos trust me, it doesn’t.

Nope. That’s left best for daydreaming, and I don’t got the time. My days in this world are numbered, and I can't see the calendar. Positivity would be wishful thinking, but it’s going to take more than hope to get me out of this mess. Mess. Maze. ‘Freaking laboratory for the psyche, or what’s left of mine.

There are a few who laugh, whispering to their friends little comments on how I should have known better. They’re the few brave ones. I think they think I was dumb enough to get caught, or desperate enough to want to. Trust me, I didn't choose this. He did. And as he likes to remind me, it's my consequence to pay. The jerk.

A couple gals shoot me a pitying glance now and then. But the rest? I may as well be a ghost. No wait, ghosts would at least be recognized as existing. Call me a invisible persona, touched by one, seen by an Alpha, and therefore off-limits to all.

They used to say, “Look an Alpha in the eyes, and he’ll find himself a prize.”

I guess another, less popular, saying goes with it, “Don’t look at the Alpha’s prize or else.........."

Okay, true story, I have no idea how to finish that sentence. Not a single clue. Can you tell I live in a bubble of ignorance? Would you believe me if I said it wasn't my fault?

No one’s dared to look at me since he made his move to claim me, chain me, and change me. So I don’t know the consequences....yet.

Still, I have it in my poor, demented head to try to give them a new saying anyway. Maybe it’ll go a little something like this:

I looked the Alpha in the eyes. He tried to turn me into a prize, but he was in for quite the surprise, when I kicked him in between his thighs.”

Yeah. I think I like that one a lot better. It may not be as poetic, but neither is our love.
