Jack's POV
This is all too weird. So today started off normal like every other day, fun and full of snow. I was messing around with a couple of thirteen year olds who thought they were the rulers of the world. It was overall fun. Then, when I noticed the northern lights in the sky, I turned to the group of believers I was playing with and said my goodbyes before flying quickly to the Pole. On the way there, I was caught in a whirlwind, and since I travel by wind, this wasn't good.
After sorting out the whirlwind thing, I finally get to the pole. After getting through all the "Jack, where were you?"s, I started hearing voices. Or, rather a voice. It was a she, and it came from up by the window we used to see the moon. At first, I shrugged it off as just me hearing things, but then it shouted something about Sandy not being the first guardian. It was really loud and very clear, with a touch of British to it. But the thing is, none of the others heard her. She said this was caused by the Laws of the Immortals.
After everyone left the globe room, I heard a soft groan from somewhere in the room. I was guessing it was Claire (that's what she said her name was) and tried to figure out where she was. She must've seen me cause she said "Over here!" to clarify. I sat down where I'm hoping is right in front of her and we started a conversation. Then out of nowhere she just laughed. And it wasn't a normal laugh either. It was light and care free, and beautiful. Really beautiful.

"So then, I took the oath and became an official guardian." I finished, after telling Claire pretty much my life story.
"Jack...I already knew all of that." she giggled. "You didn't have to spend two hours telling me."
"Wait, are you like a stalker or something?"
"Well North, Sandy, Tooth, and Bunny know your life story and they're not stalkers."
"Wait so, you're always at like guardian group ups and stuff?"
"Yeah...I mean I am a Guardian and all. Well, except for the time they found out you were going to be a guardian, because I already knew and all, and I really didn't want to see Bunny arguing about you not being a good choice for a new guardian."
"Wait, how did you know I was going to be chosen as a Guardian?"
"Well duh, Manny told me."
Manny told her? But Manny doesn't really talk all that much...
"Manny?"
"Yeah...so anyways..."
"Where do you go?" I asked, suddenly forgetting about Manny.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, like, where do you go when you're not here?"
"Oh, I go lots of places. I don't really have a main place like all you guys. I just wander around the world."
"Is there any plaves you go to more than anywhere else?"
"Hmmm..." The globe room went dead silent for a few moments while she thought, giving me a chance to hear the noises from all around the workshop. Yetis yelling, tools working, and somewhere in there, elves being stupid. "Well, once a year I go to this one city in California and make it really windy...um....oh yeah, and I hang out in Pitch's Lair a lot when I'm bored."
That last part caught me off guard. My mind started racing. Was she evil? Was she lying to me the whole time? Was she Pitch in my head mimicking a girly voice? So many ideas were flowing through my head at that moment, I didn't even hear Claire practically shouting at me.

Claire's POV
"Jack! Helloooo?! Anyone home?!" I went to pretend to knock on his head, not caring because I was 103% sure it would go through. Except it didn't, it actually hit. Well. He finally snapped out of it, and rubbed his head where I bopped him.
"Ow..." He shook his head, and looked straight ahead, questions visible in his eyes. Yeah, that's weird that I can see questions through eyes, but it's more frustrating than weird when I can't answer them.
"Oh gosh, no." I respond to one, that was merely big.
"What?"
"I don't work with Pitch, I'm a guardian for crying out loud."
"How did yo-"
"I know things." I cut him off. "Anyways, I'm not evil, I don't work with him, I'm not a liar, and I'm not Pitch manipulating you. It's just that besides Manny, and now you, Pitch is the only one who knows I exsist. He's like the opposite of you. He can see me, but he can't hear me. Manny said that that's because his ears are so full of lies, he can't hear anything as magical as my voice." I smiled, proud of that statement.
"So...Manny...does he...talk to you?"
I laughed, before stopping myself to answer.
"Yeah. He's my best friend. He's always been there for me, and I love him for that." I turned around, looking at Manny, smiling slightly. He was the only reason I was alive. Because when nobody believes in you, you die. He was keeping me alive, even if only for a little longer. I looked back at Jack, who was smiling slightly, looking at my good friend as well.
"Well. I've got work to do." I sighed. "See ya later. Although you probably won't see me." He laughed slightly at my stupid joke.
"Bye Claire. It was nice meeting you."
I smiled and pretending to leave, but then I silently flew back next to him.
What are you doing? Manny asked. I simply turned around and made the shush signal to him.
Jack got up, shook his head, ran his hand through his hair, and walked out the giant front doors, with me following quickly behind.
"I must be going insane." he muttered.
Oh. Okay. That didn't bruise my self esteem at all.
He called for the wind to take him home, but I ignored him. He didn't know I was there, it wasn't meant for my ears, but it still hurt, a lot. Finally, another Guardian believes in me, but then it turns out he just thinks he's going insane. I sat down in the deep snow and brought my knees to my chest, hugging them tightly. Tears threatened to spill as I tried to slow my breathing, trying not to cry...
A river now ran down my face as I kept silent. I didn't notice how numb the cold was making me, and at that point I didn't care. I hadn't cried in who knows how long and it felt good just to let it all out. I stood up and flew in to the middle of the snow where nothing was and threw the wind around. I screamed and cried as loud as I could and whipped the wind as hard as I could. After about an hour, I grew exhausted and I fell onto my knees, and then onto my face and let the snow swallow me whole.
