"You said they make fun of your body."

Location: Damson Highschool
^ ^ ^ YOUR POV ^ ^ ^

Yesterday didn't turn out as I had liked it too, and here's why.

Marina isn't in any of my classes, which is kind of disappointing.

I met Ched this afternoon. He's the school bully, and totally not cool.

He made fun of my TV head. He called me fat, and smashed my screen against the lockers. But, fortunately for me, the Tank boy came in and defended me. Turns out his real name is Toby!

After that, I went to the nurse's. Luckily, it was only a couple of bruises and scratches. I got my screen spider cracked, but when I got home, I made it as good as new.

Marina told me, as we walked home from school, that I missed so much! She got to meet Tank's family, along with that Cory boy I had run into.

"Cory? I know that name." I had said to my friend, "We accidentally bumped into each other today."

She explained to me how Cory, Tank, and her met up with Simon again, and made posters for people to join their club.

"Well then, I'll keep an eye out for them." I had told Marina. Today, trying to stay invisible is not an option. It's face Ched, which'll probably get me killed, and look out for posters. When I arrived at the school, the first thing I saw was the posters. Unfortunately, somebody had ripped and shredded them.

Ched.

I should've known something like this would've happened. They should have known. I sigh, and adjust the backpack on my shoulder as I walk into the school. Somebody was shoved into me as I was strolling to my locker.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! I—Oh! It's you again. Yeah, uh, I apologize for that . . ." Cory scratches the back of his head.

"It's uh, it's fine. My name is Y/N, by the way." I introduce myself, nervously.

"Oh yeah! Marina told me about you!" Cory exclaims. I send him a digital smile.

"She talked a lot more about Tank, er—Toby, so . . . Sorry?" I tell him nervously. I'm not great with new people, as you may have heard. Cory shrugs.

"Eh. It's fine. I'm not supposed though! Those two stay together like magnets! I don't think they leave each other's side until they go home!" Cory informs me, laughing. I laugh with him.

"That is kind of odd, considering it's only our second day here!" I point out. "Also, I'm sorry about the posters. You guys must have worked real hard on them."

"It's alright. Well, we should get to class. Don't wanna be late. Hey, will you be at the path behind the school today?" He suddenly asks. I nod.

"Sure! Why? What's going on today?" I ask curiously.

"We'll be LARPing. I managed to convince my friend Gertrude to come too, so you'll get to meet her!" Cory informs me, before running off into the crowd of students.

"SEE YOU LATER!" He calls to me. I shrug. Live Action RolePlay. Doesn't sound like a bad way to spend my afternoon!

I met up with a short girl from my grade, who Cory said was Gertrude.

"Hey, wait up!" I yell to her. I run up to her as she looks over the broken wooden bridge's edge.

"Doesn't that thing have leaches?" I ask, looking down at the river. Gertrude lets out a grunt. She was in all black clothing, including the bunny ear headband she wore. Her makeup only added to the goth look.

"Are you an emo or something? Please don't tell me you listen to Dance, Gavin Dance!" I tell her. Then, she speaks up.

"No, I'm not sure why they think its so good." I raise my eyebrows.

"So, you must be Gertrude! My name is Y/N! Me and my friend Marina moved a couple days ago." I explain to the girl. She nods.

"I've heard about you. It's kind of hard not to when you have a TV for a head. Sort of like Cory, except he has a camera for a face." She says, shrugging. Gertrude looks from the water to me.

"Did they invite you to LARP too?"

"Yeah, they did." I answer. "What's with the odd look though?" Gertrude sighs.

"Simon was blind about my crush with him, so he's going with Suzy Q. instead. So, I joined the goths. They're the ones who really understand me." She blurts unhappily, hugging herself.

"Well, I'm sure your friends have a talked some sense into him! Though, you never do know with boys." I joke. This causes her to genuinely laugh, and she takes a couple steps away from the bridge.

"Come on, we should go to the LARPing spot." Gertrude tells me, heading in the opposite direction.

"Alright GT! Er—Can I uh, can I call you that?" I scratch my neck, looking hopeful.

"Sure, sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night." GT says to me, letting out another hearty laugh. I now have the sudden feeling that this'll become a wonderful, blooming friendship!
