[Alex's POV]

I didn't want to wake up.
I rolled over to turn off my phone's alarm and checked for social media notifications. I had none. I groaned and got up to get dressed.

I wear all black clothing. It's the only way to stay invisible at my school, especially after a troublesome time last year, when my parents kicked me out of the house after I came out to them.

Bullies at school treated me horribly. That hasn't changed in a year. I decided to wear jeans, a band shirt, combat boots and an aviator jacket.

I then grabbed my phone, earbuds and eyeliner, ate a piece of toast and left my house to start the walk to school.

When I got to school, I went to my locker and got out a notebook and my pencil bag. I then walked into my first period, Sign Language, and sat down in the far corner.

No one ever talked to me. Even the teachers gave me work and walked away, as if I was a freak. I then heard the desk next to me get scooted closers and I looked up to see who moved it. The guy next to me had black hair with a red part in the front, like mine. He had sparkling brown eyes, which I instantly adored. He was dressed in jeans and a flannel with sneakers.

"Is it okay if I sit here?" he asked me with a slightly worried tone to his voice.

"Yeah, sure I guess." I mumbled.

"Thanks. What's your name by the way?"

"Alex."

"That's a cool name."

"Thanks. What's your name?"

I need to keep my mouth shut. I never talk this much to anyone, if at all. What is wrong with me?

"Mark."

He opened his mouth to speak, but the bell rang and the teacher started talking. I then put in my earbuds and started to play Helena. The whole time, Mark consumed my thoughts. I shouldn't have talked.
