"So what are we gonna do for our project?" I asked amber
"ugh I don't know... can't we just do it later?" Amber said in chilled voice
"Are you kidding? it's 60% of our grade!" "We have to be productive" I said this whilst kicking the pebbles off the sidewalk
"Don't you find it weird that the others haven't been at school lately?" Amber questioned
"Ehh, I guess... they're probably just "skipping" school" I said sarcastically
We started to approach my house
I ran to the post box and started to empty it out
"hey! ALEXA wait up" Amber shouted a few houses away
I ignored her and kept on looking through the letters
Then
One stood out
TO ALEXA CHAPLIN
please read this before the end of this month
The letter was very plain, It had this ancient logo with a latin slogan that I couldn't understand
"semper verum" it said
"lol what?"
"what is that?" Amber questioned as she peered over my shoulders
"I don't... don't know?"
without a second I ripped the letter open
"morse code?"
I looked up at Amber but she just shrugged
I squinted to take a closer and grabbed my phone and looked up the answers for the dotted lines and circles.
with a few tries I finally cracked it
I grabbed Amber by her arm and dragged her towards the garage.
Amber gave out a sarcastic laugh " lol what are you thinking"
I shrugged "driving there lol"
Amber raised her eyebrows at me "Do you even know how to drive"
"duh i've done it ....twice" and I started the car engine.
