The Wild Ride

Chapter 6

Anna woke up and she couldn't see a thing but then she realized all of her hair that was on the side of her face covered her whole face. She separated her hair then put her hair behind her ears like she use to do. She started to stretch, then she looked outside and it was pitch black. There wasn't even a single star in the sky. She looked at the house phone she took and it said that it was 2:02am and she was the only one other than the bus driver that was awake. She looked at Nick and he didn't have the blanket on him but the blanket was small but it could cover two people. She had most of the blanket so she put the blanket on him and started digging through her bad to find something to wear.

She grabbed an outfit and went to the bus bathroom; the bathroom in the bus was like a porta potty but with a sink and a little bit of a walk space. She put on a white shirt that said "BE (underlined) YOU (underlined) TIFUL, some skinny blue jeans with a brown belt, one of her black leather jackets, a blue, black, and a little bit of white colored scarf, her brown buckle boots that went to her ankles, and black sunglasses that she put on her shirt for when she really needs it. She came out of the bathroom and the bus stopped at Oklahoma City where she'll get off to get to Hollywood.

She didn't want to wake up Nick to fast so she leaned over him to get her bag, then some kid on the bus pushed her and she landed on Nick. Nick's head went straight down almost at the end of her back and his legs went straight up which made her go up with them and now his face was touching the end of her back. "Hey get your head off of me!" she said as she tried to get up off of him. He did what she said and she got up and told him "It's time to get off the bus unless you want to take the bus back to Kentucky." he got straight up and said that he's still going with her. Then they got of the bus and straight to the bus that was going to Hollywood.

Nick was behind Anna when they were getting the seats and he was just now noticing her outfit and he liked it. "Ok you go in first." Anna said when she found a seat for them pointing at the window seat. "Don't you want the window seat?" he asked. Anna looked at him like really on her face then he said ok and went to the seat. She sat next to him and grabbed the house phone out of her bag. It's been two or three days since she's talked to her grandma, and she's tried calling her on this trip but she was too scared to do it.

*RING, RING, RING* The phone went as she was waiting for her grandma to answer. "Hello?" her grandma answered; Anna panic and didn't say anything for a minute then Anna hurried up and hanged up on her. She put the against her forehead with both of her hands holding it, and then she started to cry. Nick watched her the whole time that she was doing this and put his arm slowly around her so he could comfort her; but she went straight into his arms and put her face against his chest and cried some more.

"I'm guessing you didn't tell her that you were going to this college did you?" Nick said as he started rubbing her head and looking down to see her big blue eyes. She looked at Nick's different colored eyes and and said "No one even knows that I'm here and I didn't leave a note or anything telling my grandma that I was doing this. I'm the worst granddaughter ever!" she said and then she wrapped her arms around him and started to cry. "No I'm sure that she knows that you would go to the school at some point and I bet that when you come back that everything will go back to normal and she will still love you!" he said as he squeezed her tight "Just as much as I do." he mumbled to himself. "What?!" she said to him not sure what he had just said. "I-I-I said that you would love her just as much as she loves you!" he said as he started to stutter.

She felt a lot better about what he said to her. "Hm, so do you want to play Guess What I Am?" he asked and she said sure. "Are you an animal?" she asked "Yep." "Are you a mammal?" "Yep" he said. "Are you a sea animal?" "Yes and no." "Are you a person!?" she asked. "Correct!" "now you get a kiss!" he mumbled to himself. "What did you say I win a kiss!?" she asked. He didn't say anything because he was trying to come up with something. She leaned over him and gave him a small kiss on his cheek. "Thanks for coming with me." she said to him as they both started to blush. Anna smiled, put her legs in the seat with her, put her head on his shoulder and fell asleep with Nick's head on top of her's and also fell asleep.

After hours and hours of sleep she woke up with bright colorful lights in her eyes. She took her head off of Nick's shoulder with Nick's head is on his other shoulder; she looked out the window and she saw a sign that said Los Angeles with lights going around it. She thought it was so beautiful there even though to her the stars are beautiful at night, the streetlights were even more beautiful at night. There was so many things that she could see but in so little time. When she checked the phone it was 5:35am and she looked up online that the college starts classes at 6:00am so she had to hurry up and get to the school to see if Jackson was here!

"NICK! Nick you need to get up we're getting off the bus!" she said to him as she was shaking his shoulders. He woke up and got off the seats. She rushed off the bus and looked at the map that she had made earlier that showed her where she was supposed to go. "HEY! Anna what's the rush!?" he said as he was calling out to him as she was 30 feet away from him. "Get us a room I'll be back in a bit!" she yelled back to him as she started running towards a taxi. He said ok and she went into a taxi and drove to the college.

The ride there was only 14 minutes but that's without the traffic and that cost her $15.25 but she didn't care. If Jackson turns out to be here then everything that she went through will all be worth it to her. The taxi driver dropped her in front of the college at 5:52 so there was enough time for her to maybe see if he is here. She went to the office and they told her that he does go to this school and what class he had first. She ran to the room that she was told and had a thought that Jackson would be so happy to see her and that he would give her a kiss on her lips.

When she got to the room she was so nervous to see him after all of this time. She had change so much that he might not even know her; she started bringing her hopes down about him being happy to see her. Her hand was on the door knob and when she was just about to leave a perfecter opened the door from the inside and told her to take a seat; so she did. Then after 8 minutes everyone started coming in and started filling the seats. She was in the seat that was close to the door and each person she saw going through the door none of them was Jackson. She looked at the other door on the other side of the room and there was still no sign of Jackson.

Anna started to realize that it was probably a different Jackson Carmichael and decided to leave. She opened the door and started to look down so that no one could see her face and that she couldn't see anyone's face. She thought to herself that this was a waste of time and that she should have never have done this for a stupid guy. She got out and sat on a bench that was in front of the college and decided to call her grandma. Right when she called her grandma answered.

"Hello Patty Smith here." she said and she sounded so sad. 'Hey grandma it's me Anna." "ANNA! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN SWEETHEART I'VE BEEN WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU!" her grandma said as she was relieved. Anna started crying on the phone. "Oh sweetie are you ok! What's wrong!?" "Oh grandma I'm sorry. I did a terrible thing!" "What is it!?" she asked. "I have been acting so stupid lately just because a guy left my life and then I decided to go on a huge trip without telling you just to see the dumb guy again and then it turns out that he isn't even here!" she said as she just cried and cried.

"Where are you I'll come and pick you up!?" her grandma said. "You can't I'm too far away from you but don't worry I'm coming home!" she said as she said see you there and hung up the phone. She wiped her tears away and got up. She turned around to pick up her bag and she couldn't believe her eyes. It was Jackson and then 30 feet away next to her was Nick and they were both coming towards her. She didn't know what to do, they both saw her and she saw both of them! This was the time for her to figure out who she wanted in her life. The guy who has protected and always been there for her or the guy who came out of the blue as a weird stalker.

She chose who she wanted to be with...

She started walking towards Jackson with a huge smile on her face with her eyes about to tear up. Then she saw a girl come up from behind him and started kissing him! He didn't do anything but kiss her back and let her put his arm around her and walked towards the classrooms right in front of Anna. He didn't even look back and neither did Anna. She walked around the building and she bumped into Nick. She smiled and acted like nothing just happened and they went to the hotel for a night and he slept on the floor. Then after they were rested they took their trip back to New York. Back into her grandma's arms, and everything really did go back to normal.
